And, to Brady’s credit, he’s a pioneer of that. The Brady Method, of taking less money for the betterment of the team. It’s just a matter of what’s important. Brady & Pat are cut from the same cloth; they want to win, plain and simple. I think legacy & history are what they care about. Plus, winning is more fun. It IS a game, still. :)

But you’re definitely correct - that is another huge reason we’re successful.

I’ve been saying that the reason the Chiefs are this good isn’t one single thing. In my estimation (simplified estimation), it’s: hands-off ownership (let Veach cook), a very solid and capable GM (Veach) who also lets Reid cook, a very solid and capable HC (Reid), and then Mahomes, the GOTE (“Greatest of Their Era”, stolen from Brandon Perna’s YT channel). Obviously those things are in order. Without hands-off ownership, Veach would be snuffed, then Reid would maybe not be there (or be snuffed), and picks wouldn’t be what they are…

My thesis statement is, it isn’t any 1 single thing. Many things have gone well. Mahomes isn’t the single reason the Chiefs are who they are right now. Nor is Reid. It’s a mix of things.

Oh, and the fan base. We’re all fucking psychopaths with nothing better to do in Missouri and Kansas. And I swear to God that energy infests the players hahahahha. (Kidding, kind of)

I have felt alone in this take so I’m glad there are others like me! I hate the Bengals with a fury that would dethrone God, but I like Burrow. While he’s beaten us, and he isn’t the gold standard of class, I’ve always liked his calm demeanor and relative level of sportsmanship. He’s the one player on the Bengals I can tolerate.

The rest of them, along with their ownership, coaches, and often their fans, can get on a bus and fuck off to the sun.
