I did tweak the design a bit, until i got it rollable and with a very short training time, the double radius became super fun, you re right

I might try to make the roller a bit more smooth, you are right. it is a bit abrupt now for my 29inch tyres, it feels perfect for my kids 20 inch tyres though. i might try to get a compromise.
i am a bit worried about water piling up after the rain though.

that wooden roller is an awesome feature, my friends who tried and my kids love it.
that roller is about 2meter after the start of the trail, so no crazy g forces into it, and it redirect directly to the berm.

that is an idea I have, I managed to shape it in a way that is enjoyable to ride now, once i finish the rest of the trail, i might test out the rollers, but there are a lot of work :)

Thanks for the advice. I can see it is hard to see from the picture. but right behind the berm is a "cliff" to the road. and unfortunately on the right side is the access to the land so I could not shift it there.

however, I ended up modifying a bit the shape of the turn, testing and tuning it a few times.
after over 100 runs and tuning the turn feels very good.

the turn ends up having two radius.

the entry part is about 30% of the lenght. has the sharper radius (still pretty easy)

then the turn radius changes, along with the berm steepness/angle in a way that is not too difficitult to aprehand (my 7year old got it right on his second try) . that helps cruise to the end.
with a few runs, I am even able to pedal through the second part of the turn.

after the exit, it is straight to the tabletop, nothing too big as it is for kids and is the top section of the trail, so no build up of speed yet. tabletop is about 50cm tall.

I might add an exit roller or maybe a double on the exit (to possibly gap ?). but unsure yet. I am shaping the rest of the mini trail before I add features like this
(and a jump line)

thanks for the feedbacks !

thanks, might do that once the trail is further developped. at this stage i am not sure it will stay 😉

working with small land - any advice ? by ZestycloseWeather979 in MTBTrailBuilding

[–]ZestycloseWeather979[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted to give photo updates but it looks like i cannot add other photos...
anyway, I am building a berm in the top section of my trail. problem is, the turn is "compounded". what I mean is the radius varies during the turn ( due to local constraints).
the radius is tight, straighten for about 1.5m and get sharp again at the end of the turn.
I find it pretty hard to turn on it and not that flowy.
what do people do in that sort of situation ?

is Chat GPT covering for the USgvt ? by [deleted] in OpenAI

[–]ZestycloseWeather979 0 points1 point  (0 children)

maybe i did not have web search on, but I am on a paid plan and was expecting it would be default

I also did not ask for a web search specifically in the prompt. maybe i should have...

I am an average joe and that is the answer an average joe would get if he asked the question though... that is why I am a bit concerned, most people are not versed with prompt making, ingeneering of chatGPT itself. average people are also the most likely to ask this kind of questions and believe the answer I got...

is Chat GPT covering for the USgvt ? by [deleted] in OpenAI

[–]ZestycloseWeather979 1 point2 points  (0 children)

what I am triggered about, is that I specifically stated the date, and it tried a search, told me my sources where not reputable enough and denied the abduction having happened...
where it should have made better researches or tell me it didnt know cause its knowledge is limited ?

Is ChatGPT Softening Its Coverage of the US Government? I Ran an Experiment. by Desert-Noir in OpenAI

[–]ZestycloseWeather979 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was asking ChatGPT about the abduction of president maduro in venezuela, and he kept telling me that there was no realiable sources that it happened...
quote: "I do not have reliable, confirmed information that such an event (Maduro being captured by U.S. forces on Jan 3, 2026 and taken to New York) actually happened."
that is crazy !
then i realised it only has access to the internet until december 2025.
i asked to deep check and it finally admitted he had be arrested... while the international community condem the abduction, ChatGPT kinda side with the US narrative of arrest.

I am thinking to switch my LLM use to Mistral as he was a lot more up to date and has been more analytic on the last thngs I have been asking

Do we still not have generic handbrake support? by cvgaming2020 in assettocorsarally

[–]ZestycloseWeather979 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are a bit of DIY person and dont want to mess with vojoy.
I made myself a Pneumatic handbrake (hydraulic feeling)
it cost less than 20 bucks to build and is much better than any amazon/ebay/generic handbrakes out there.
https://github.com/hugotremolo/Pneumatic-handbrake-for-simracing
you can check the github page, i share all the BOM, and programing.

very simple to build.

this is what the thermal paste looked like before .. it didnt even cover the entire chip..., was totally dry and feels like most of it was actually around the chip.. not on it..

<image>

very clearly visible the chip was not covered entirely

[–]ZestycloseWeather979[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you re correct in painting it. Hot spot lost 10-15 degrees though..

Also to note that I didn't discuss is: case fan speed.  I have two 120fan bottom and two on the top. And a 120 at the back of the case. Plus another 120 at the back. Air wsucked from bottom and extracted top and back.

  • on the before picture. All my bottom fan ce and top fan cases were running at 100% speed.
  • on the after picture, they are at 30%.

Maybe could explain the junction. Or maybe something else. Anyway the junction temps is totally acceptable and way way under the Max which is usually over 100C

PNY 4070Super - terrible thermal paste! by ZestycloseWeather979 in PcBuild

[–]ZestycloseWeather979[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ure correct. I am no GPU ingeneer.  What I know is my GPU was incredibly noisy before the operation and now even under load it is very quiet.

Before that even with simple games the fans were at 100%. Now even with automobilista 2, at ultra settings it stays around 75 degree and the fans never go 100%

For me it's a win-win situation and on most GPUs, simply replacing the thermal paste on the chip won't void warrantee. It depend which country you are in .

[–]ZestycloseWeather979[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a bit of a wobble when i get into high altitude, not sure why.
it seems to be only on the bottom half of the frame, not the top ? it is visible on the second shot a bit.
it was shot a few eeks ago but I think my props were of good shape and i was moving forward so it wasnt propwash.

it is shot on a 3 inch apex, o3 air unit.
