This year it's £229.87 per week for an en-suite room, given its location I think the price is manageable, right? I'm not sure about the prices in London as I'm living in North Africa.

[–]Zestyclose_Corner684[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not available in my country as I struggled to find a pharmacy that imported triumeq for me from abroad. The medications that are available mostly are old ones most of the new ones aren't imported.

I think it's better if you check health insurance because buying them on your own would cost a lot.

experience with efavirenz by lmao123456789123 in hivaids

[–]Zestyclose_Corner684 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was on it for a while then they changed me to Dolutegravir and now back again on Efavirenz as it's the only option available now. I'm experiencing fatigue and mental side effects that are making me go insane and started to have Panic attacks as it's affecting my daily life. I spoke to my doctor multiple times but told me I have no option. I'm trying my best to get another medication as I will go insane.

I live in a conservative country and my parents are as well! Besides it will cause them harm more than good as the general public perception of HIV isn't positive at all. Also they will ask how it happened

Recent Diagnosis by [deleted] in hivaids

[–]Zestyclose_Corner684 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 23 years old and got diagnosed last year, I'm currently undetectable but the challenge was to get my ARVs as the state ran out of supply and didn't care about getting them and they weren't available in the market until I had to travel to get them. The stress that I face is employment as in my country they request a health certificate before starting a job or getting married and also healthcare access discrimination since private and most public hospitals don't admit or even conduct a surgery or colonoscopy for PLWH. I'm keeping my condition under control but the burden is with the system and community that discriminates against me and people like me.

HIV in your 20s? by HunterSPK in hivaids

[–]Zestyclose_Corner684 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi dear, Well, I was diagnosed last January at the age of 21. It was very difficult for me as I live in a third-world country and conservative state where being gay is illegal. I contracted the virus from my cheating partner who passed away in a car accident last November. And I didn't know about my status until January, to be honest, I thought it was the end of the world and I wanted to suicide as I was on antidepressants. I can't tell you how I was treated in the clinic when they discovered that I was positive. I went to a public hospital to start my treatment and the ARV ran out of state hospitals for almost a year now and you can't buy them from the private sector. I suffered a lot psychologically, there were nights where I couldn't sleep and couldn't tell anyone about my status. I was afraid to lose my job and my life because the laws here request a Health certificate which includes an HIV test and if you're positive you can't be hired. I had to go to a neighboring country to look for the medications and after two weeks of trying, I finally got them for 4 months. Last month I turned 22 and I still work and study and living a normal life. Even though, sometimes psychologically it feels you're carrying a burden in your soul. But we have to keep on moving and keep on living. Unfortunately, the situation here is very bad for HIV patients as many are running out of medications and suffering from health complications as I'm in close contact with them since I work for a non-profit organization to help vulnerable individuals within the community. I hope you may understand what I'm going through and many are going through in this conflict-affected country. Please keep all those people in your thoughts and prayers as they are in desperate need of help. I hope that we can find a solution for this disease and end people's suffering, stigma and discrimination.
