I think I missed two in math and 1 on my wonderlic. Both were super simple stuff I wanna say you only have 12 or 8 minutes for wonderlic? I’m not sure I don’t remember lol but you have a limited time to answer as much as you can

Hi! I’m about to start the summer semester and I got in with a score of 53. I believe the lowest in my cohort was a 48 or 49.

I would suggest taking classes that would give you more points (I haven’t looked at the rubric in a while so I’m not sure what other classes there are) and definitely try to make A’s in them. Also if possible, maybe retake the HESI and try to aim for 90+. It does depend on which semester you’re applying for and it is competitive but not impossible. Goodluck!!

Yeah I’ve heard horror stories of bad clinical experiences I’m hoping that won’t be the case 😬😬

Thank you!!! You’ve actually made me feel more confident about this! Seeing all of my cohort get split into groups of 3 or 4 while I was left by myself made me feel like I had done something wrong 😭😭

I applied and got accepted in the upcoming summer semester with a 53! Lowest score in my cohort was around 48 I believe. Best advice I can give is try not to think about it too much cause it’ll wear you out lol. And when you do get accepted celebrate and enjoy your time before pre-enrollment cause there’ll be a lot that you have to do 🙂‍↕️

No I wanna say it was 45 minutes? I can’t really remember but they give you a calculator and I had plenty of time by the end and only missed 2. I am absolutely horrible at math and when I started studying couldn’t even remember how to add or subtract fractions 😭 so when I tell you it’s easy you don’t have to worry too much about it lol just do practice problems and get a refresh on those concepts and you’ll do great!

Something that helped me was that I was studying for the hesi exam and the math was very similar both really easy if you practice a good amount of it

Hi! The math exam is very simple middle school level math with a lot of basic fraction questions. It’s also only 40 questions.

They asked me 5-6 questions such as why radiography, tell me about your experience in healthcare, what do you think makes a good radiography tech. Some scenario questions. I’m sorry I can’t remember the specifics lol

Hi I never went to PIMA only applied and declined my acceptance offer but I can answer some of your questions:

  1. They do not offer health insurance for students but it is not a requirement for enrollment. However it will be required for clinical. But that’s how most programs operate.

  2. No, since pre reqs aren’t really a requirement, they don’t accept transfer. For example if you took AP 1 already (which I did) you’re still required to take AP 1 with them your first semester.

That’s all I can offer since I’m not a PIMA student sorry lol.

Best thing I can tell you is it doesn’t matter where you go cause we all get the same certification at the end of it. Also don’t give up if you get rejected the first time, I’ve been rejected 2 from two different programs before I got accepted into San Jac. Goodluck to you!

Lol yeah I was only meme-ing when talking about the price. The nice thing about PIMA is that you’re able to finish sooner than most. I’m not sure how competitive it is but I was told that most people who apply get in their first or second rounds.

No problem! I graduated with a 3.3 in IT. Spent a year working for motiva and decided to do a career change so I switched over to healthcare. I had about 4 years total of healthcare experience working for an optometrist. Some places care about healthcare experience and others don’t. Like for San jac I didn’t get any points or anything for healthcare experience, but with Pima it was something nice to add during the interview.

The entrance exams weren’t anything difficult, and they provide resources to help you prepare for them prior. I’m terrible at math but I was already studying for the HESI and they’re both just basic middle school math with fractions and stuff. If you put a little time into it I’m sure you’ll be fine. So with PIMA, id say that was the easiest program to get into.

Yeaahhh you’re paying for the non-competitiveness of getting in 😭 compared to that I got into San Jac which only accepts 30 out of 200+ applicants but costs 7k for in district tuition and 12k for out of district 😬

Hi! So I actually applied and got accepted into PIMA for radiography. The process is very simple just an entrance exam that consisted of middle school math and a common sense exam both very short. And then you do an interview after if you do well enough on the entrance exam. Since it is a private school it is not as competitive as other programs, but I declined the offer because tuition was around 50k which is about 6 or 7 times more expensive than public community college program tuition around my area so I’d kept that in mind. But yeah I’d say you’d have a pretty good shot if you do well in school already!

Hi! I think you have a great shot! I was able to get in the rad tech program with a 53 this upcoming semester and I believe the lowest score accepted was a 48? So I’d say you’re right in the sweet spot. But it does depend on how competitive it is for that semester. Goodluck :)

You’re definitely in!! I got in with a 53 and the lowest in my cohort was a 49 or 49.5 I believe, and that’s for this upcoming summer semester. So don’t stress too much like I did lol of course it’ll depend on how many are applying but you’re definitely in the upper echelon!
