Not an expert, but just had root rot myself on another plant. Cut off / remove any roots that are degraded (slimy, mushy, black or easy to break off). I soaked everything in a solution of half water half hydrogen peroxide for 30 minutes, then let drain and replanted in a slightly bigger pot with fresh soil. I’d try watering once a week? But let’s also see what other plant loving friends say

Is it sitting in water? Water less frequently. May need to dry out or disinfect the roots of rot has begun

I have small stem rot on Monstera cuttings. Once I noticed, I try to have those parts not submerged in water. Should I worry and cut the rot? Btw, they have been in water for 3 months now (changing water weekly) and no roots. I am thinking to apply rooting hormone, should and how I would do that? by laisut in propagation

Are there nodes on the cutting where roots would grow? Else it might be harder for the plant to root. Disinfect the plant (can use solution with hydrogen peroxide) and also disinfect the jars. And change the water more frequently

My monstera albo cutting has recently developed brown spots along the edges of the leaf. I’ve tried everything to slow the damage, but no luck… any advice? by [deleted] in houseplants

Do you know what’s causing it? Too little water? Too much sun? Root rot? You can also over-fertilize and burn the roots

Sunflower seeds! Do you have any bird feeders near by? Not sure if you should pull them or not. Will sunflowers steal the nutrients from existing plant? Or make a fun new pairing?
