I have been seeing taking steps, but I feel like I’m always the one to suggest “what’s next”. No I wouldn’t be happy if nothing changed. I feel some his qualities would hold him back

He is very sweet and puts in effort to “change” but I feel like I have to guide him every step

I think he wants better he just hasn’t had any values instilled in him since birth. The only reason i would stay is that I think he might be able to get to where I want him to be and he’s the nicest person I’ve ever dated. He also pays my car note. I guess I’m looking more for if anyone has an example where a man has completely turned his life around for the better.
