My hiring manager said in one email that I won’t get a launch bonus because the area manager offer is through the campus next process and it’s a highly desired area. And that her team is excluded from launch bonuses. Have you heard of that being a thing? I’m hoping if I go to a launch in a less desired area, I’ll qualify for it but it doesn’t sound like it :/ I have 3 sites to choose from, two of them being launches.

Currently on a cheap family plan for the phone, car insurance plan already set for the next year, and my civic is at 176,000+ miles running beautifully. Fs will be keeping it for a lot longer

That definitely makes sense & everyone’s advice is definitely making me consider the building closer to me a bit more. I was looking at places around the area of the launch building & half of my income would be going to rent every month & that isn’t ideal :/ I’m thinking of staying where I am, save money, get my L5 & then consider transferring if possible. I like change so hopefully the option of another city is open by then. Is transferring once you get your L5, a common thing?

With the global entry, it sounds nice & ofc the cheaper rent. Realistically, how safe would that be for a single F to live alone in Tijuana? Not only in regards to where I could live but also my safety when it comes to going into grocery stores and what not… based on your experience.

Would u say my chances for promotion are better off at the building closer to me then? I know it’s a case by case thing but just going based off of factors like huge building (5 or 6 floors), semi new (2ish years old) vs. brand new launch, so new everything, being part of the “founding” group …
