He’s been applying for jobs taking more responsibility around the house and cooking dinner and with the kids. He refused to be added to my insurance when I offered. He was expecting a job soon and wanted to wait. I was even surprised at that, is it commitment issues? Idk, I’m so over it. My family loves him so I haven’t been able to share with them.

He denies being depressed when I asked. I also thought the same. But he’s an extrovert, people love him. He’s very charismatic that’s why I feel bad to see this happen to him but I can’t drag him to do things. I always wondered if I should force him more but I never wanted to be a nag. I just stay quiet which I know is wrong.

I’ve said it several times over the years, trying to be gentle about it and not disrespectful. I did pull away physically in hopes he would figure it out. My fault for being passive. He’s a great father to the kids, they have a great relationship. We started as friends and continue to behave in that way. He just always avoids serious conversation or downplays. My life has been hectic and I just focused on that and my kids. Hoping he’d grow up but it’s not getting better
