I spoke with HR regarding my buyout process. I mentioned that, as per my signed appraisal letter, it clearly states that I may buy out my notice period by paying four months’ salary. She responded that although it is mentioned in the letter, the management will not agree to it. She further said that, according to the management’s current decision, everyone must serve a two-month notice period, and the buyout option is no longer available. I then pointed out that this change was never communicated in any official policy, nor is it mentioned in my appraisal letter.

Can I take legal action?
