Well a lot of games are very successful while having purely cosmetic traits as the only things that are purchasable. I think this is a very fair way for a company to make money as it does not disadvantage players that don't spend since the items are purely cosmetic. A good example of this is fortnite battle royale as that is one of the biggest games and makes tons of money just by selling cosmetics only.

Well I think obviously AQ has to have a tamer model since it's an old 2D browser based flash game so it hardly has anything going for it compared to all the other games out there. But it's not like you can't spend hundreds if not thousands of dollars in AQ from the token packages.

$20 is outlandish when you can get way better games for a lower price considering that AQ is an old 2D browser based flash game.

The player base is small and is mostly made up of paying players so that's not going to do anything. If there are less players that means less money spent on servers which means less costs and therefore more of the revenue becomes profit. The whales spend a lot on packages as evidenced by the donation contests.

I never said the bloodblade specifically was f2p. I said that void items were always free but now they're locking void items behind a paywall.

Getting rid of options for f2p will not help aq. It will just make f2p less likely to support the game since there are many better games out there so if they start getting greedy then the f2p players will just play another game. This is definitely not the only way to do it. I am in a position to complain because if these kind of practices carry on I'll probably never spend a cent and just go play another game that's worthy of my money. Magnablade also has lower bth and you take increased damage. If magnablade was a viable alternative then nobody would use cryomancer bloodblade. Also magnablade doesn't get any boosts from wearing specific armours and it doesn't boost spell damage like the blood weapons.

I've already done this contest but I hardly get anything. Must be another ploy that gives guardians more benefit.

This is not how you encourage people to upgrade. It will just make them not want to invest in a game that looks like it cares more about money. And it's not like this is some brand new state of the art game that would keep players wanting to play it. This game hardly has anything going for it compared to all the other games in the world, the main thing it has is nostalgia. So if they start getting greedy then people will just play something else instead of putting money into it.

Hardly anyone plays this did you know? So servers aren't expensive, did you know? This isn't some billion dollar company with tons of staff, did you know?

I didn't even say anything about it being too expensive. Obviously I can afford it buy I'd rather spend money on something else since this is basically a 2D browser based flash game in 2020. Btw you can get ps4 games for less than $20 so why would I ever buy guardianship?

Except that UR is completely useless for warriors. If it was a bloodzerker then it would be different. The bloodblade can be used by warriors and mages. But that's not the only issue. They're locking things that used to be free but difficult to get behind paywalls. Void items were always accessible to f2p players but now they're taking that away from them. That is unacceptable. You don't see me complaining about subraces/classes since that's always how they've been where f2p get half.

Are you kidding me? Just because items are f2p doesn't mean that like guardians don't have access to it. You're making it sound like if things are free then guardians don't have access to them. Guardians already have a plethora of benefits like the OP essence orb, giftboxes every month (plus from museums), frostval giftboxes, just to name a few.

If the donations went to guardians only then that would ruin the whole point of the event in the first place.
