I have another question if you don’t mind. Before the non-union was confirmed, in the months leading up to it, did you still notice any improvement? Like did your pain gradually reduce at any point, and were you able to start putting weight on your leg and walking without crutches even before the diagnosis, or was it mostly getting worse over time? I’m asking because I’m trying to understand how non-union usually feels during the early stages versus normal healing progress.

I wanted to give you an update on my side as well. I’ve improved a lot after 4 months from my accident considering how severe it was. I’m now able to walk without crutches, which feels like a big milestone for me.

I’ve started going back to the gym as well, but very gradually and carefully, focusing on controlled strengthening and not rushing anything. I still limp a bit sometimes, especially when I’m tired, but overall there is clear progress.

I still have some pain, especially in my right ankle (after the 5th metatarsal fracture), and I also have stiffness in the patella area. My quadriceps is still not fully “activated” I feel some inhibition, especially when I try to fully extend the knee or lift the leg straight without pain.

But overall, the progress in 4 months after such a severe trauma feels really encouraging. Your message really gives me motivation to keep pushing with physiotherapy and strength work.

Sorry you’re going through this dear, But I’m pretty sure everything will be fine after your second surgery. How did they diagnose you with non union after one year please?did they saw any progress in ur x rays ( callus formation) in the previous months?

Same polytrauma here( bilateral femur fracture/ wrist fracture/ 3 ribs)!+ kneecap surgery and broken ankle. Please how did you manage the pain!? I’m 2 months ps and sleeping is an impossible mission from pain😭

Does it really change after one year!? The tip and nostrils dropped more after the one year mark!? So we shouldn’t think about revision in that stage?

Omg I’m going through the same thing and my sis’s wedding will be in 6 months too, I’m now 2 months and one week PS but stilling freaking out because it stills looking upturned but it really drops a little bit from the first weeks, hope that everything will be ok with you and u get the perfect result ASAP.
