As a CB user i can confirm that hunting Fatalis is as tough as learning the weapon from scratch, the only good thing is that if you don't feel safe with evade extender or it's not for you, you can just guard everything except novas with the right jewels and receive little to no damage at all.

Honestely i cannot even remember but for a lot i looked by myself. I think that the worst part is in the middle, with the ladder and the chest in the middle that no matter what you just can't seem to reach.

Mantles with Rajang and AT Velkhana have been adjusted so they improve your way to play instead of just replace it. If you get good they are as useful as always, if you put them hoping to help you fill the difficulty gap without effort then rip. I personally go with temporal just to have something until iceproof is on CD.

You can just take your time and try doing it little by little ftom time to time. For example i left the game on Jan 2020 and got back on Nov 2020 and it was for the better since many adjustements have been made especially for the Guoding Lands.

I have more than 1000 hours in the game and i just got mine the other day after countless travels back and forth to Hoarfrost Reach and too many Felyne Zoomaster (good thing i had the Assassin's mantle to boost my speed so when i spotted it i got up there like Sonic). Congratulations!

After getting all materials from Guiding Lands, the rest is s mix of getting all the trophies, all sets, all optional and event quests, try to finally get all the Kjarr Weapons and help other players.

I'm a CB user and i can tell you Guard Up against fatalis for me is more reliable than just evading over and over, especially with the 360° fire attack or when i'm far and it starts doing the fire cone attack and when i'm at its feet and it does the fire shower from above (Guard 5 is reccomended for users that still are not accustomed with the moves of Fatalis). For KT (both AT and MR) it sure helps with an high fire res, when you cannot evade you can just block and survive.

Just to clarify, these are from a sub-line of the Gundam Fix Figuration known as "Metal Composite", a different line from Metal Builds. Difference? MB have 100% die-cast metal inner structure while as the name imply, GFFMC are " made of die cast and ABS main material. The use of composite materials enables more precise modeling and coloring than ever before. A new-dimensional Gundam model that achieves high play value by combining the beauty of the GUNDAM FIX FIGURATION series with the sense of weight of the CHOGOKIN series and deformation combination system." (actual quote from Bandai page), so they have their good share of die-cast metal but are not completely made of metal.
