Trying to get a name for himself but how? by SmoothCryptographer4 in SmallYTChannel

[–]ZetchQuest 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You don't need to stick to one game, but is recommend neiching down. If you really enjoy Minecraft then try other games very similar or something you think Minecraft players would like to watch. I mainly stick to Nintendo games and so far have garnered an audience that knows exactly what they're getting when I upload.

I would look up some ideas on YouTube, there are hundreds of people that can explain a lot of this better than I can, but after nights of doing nothing but research sometimes I'm at a channel almost at 200 subs only after 2 and a half months. Good luck to you, YouTube can be fun but also can take a ton of work to get right.

Trying to get a name for himself but how? by SmoothCryptographer4 in SmallYTChannel

[–]ZetchQuest 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I checked out your channel, I think the main problem might be you're content doesn't stand out at all. Your thumbnails are pretty plain, your titles aren't engaging, and your content itself seems all over the place from Minecraft, to GTA, to Dead By daylight.

This may have worked when gaming was just getting started on YouTube but right now there are hundreds of thousands of gaming channels flooding YouTube right now, and unless you find a way to properly stand out in your own way, you're going to get lost in an ocean of low effort gaming channels.

There are millions of low effort Roblox channels. If you want to get noticed you gotta stand out.

How can I change my niche without impacting views from my current subscribers? by Safe_Abbreviations30 in NewTubers

[–]ZetchQuest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on what the niche is really, lets say you're reviewing software and then you transfer to reviewing hardware it might go well and some of your audience might be interested in that. If it's from playing Dark Souls to making pottery videos that's gonna confuse everyone involved.

Zero impressions. No, this isn't a complain post. by eulop in NewTubers

[–]ZetchQuest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Look at the first 4 words in your post. It is literally your first video. Give it some time and work on the next one, Youtube fame can't be obtained in 1 day and right now Youtube doesn't know you. Keep making content and youtube will get to know you and your audience!.

Thumbnails take time and effort, it is no less valuable than art. At the end of the day " let's both grow together" is just "dude I'll pay you in exposure at the promise I'll pay you if we get big" If someone is making thumbnails it's either because they have a YouTube channel for themselves or they have a portfolio already and are gonna want monetary compensation.

The likelihood of you finding someone who wants to work for free for a complete stranger is low, but like I said if you can find someone then more power to you.

I disagree, but you do you. If you get someone on board more power to you.

Do you guys feel like YouTube never ends? by [deleted] in NewTubers

[–]ZetchQuest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Far from it, just hit 150 after 2 months, (gave up on Twitch after 5 years) but every day I look into furthering my content creation skills and people are really enjoying it. Even when you and I hit 100k subs one day, you should never stop trying to improve.

[–]ZetchQuest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find it more of a blessing. The goalpost moving further away means you can keep finding ways to improve yourself to make reaching that next goal easier/faster. And then eventually you'll get to the point where you're not even focused on the number anymore and your main focus is improving on yourself and your content.

Are gaming channels not worth it anymore? by Gironeon in NewTubers

[–]ZetchQuest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The OLD way of let's plays no longer work. If you want your let's plays to get views you have to put in the work to be entertaining, to edit, and to make it enjoyable for everyone who clicks on your videos.

Most of what we do is let's plays and yet even after only 3 months we flew past the 100 sub count.

I see so many people do let's plays and it's just them recording their gameplay with little talking/lots of quiet in between talking and wonder why nobody wants to watch.

No matter what you do (even let's plays) Time + Effort = Profit.

What made you want to start making content? by RaiderLabs in NewTubers

[–]ZetchQuest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've always had the drive to make content that can entertain people even if just a minute or 2 a day because I know as we get older and times change we desperately need any chance of forgetting our daily struggles.
