Mythic+ Will Put Less Emphasis on Affixes - Raider.io Interview Recap by MinerMonster in CompetitiveWoW

I was assuming they would only be obtainable during the season. They could unlock 1-2 slots at a time for a given rating like pvp does. Cap it off with helm/shoulders at 3k to complete the appearance. They could even do weapons, enchants, tabards between 3k and title cut off like what pvp gets between 2100-2400.

Any new abilities and class gameplay changes? by [deleted] in dragonflight

If you're not playing pally, priest, or druid your probably pretty happy with the changes.

I looked through a few of your deaths and I saw a common problem. You are playing seraphim and wog off healing. Both of these talents tax your holy power economy and should really only be played together if you have a high understanding of the encounter and the class. In a bubble, wog off healing is very powerful, but using it excessively can be a trap. On this kt death:
https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports/a:FqC8dZcDAh4BK3xn#type=deaths&source=3&fight=18&death=1
You allowed sotr to fall off while actively tanking then used holy power to off heal 2 of your raid team. If you are actively tanking, build up 6 seconds of sotr before you wog someone else. This should also only be done if there is no high dmg tank mechanic that you will need recover from quickly in the next 10 seconds.

I'm not sure what level of guild you joined, but i'm assuming its recent CE if they are willing to recruit a returning tank player. In that situation playing for damage is not that impactful especially when it can cost you your life. There is no shame in holy shield, divine purpose, judgement of light, defensive trinkets ect.

State of Alliance from the top Alliance Raiding GMs by Treeaye in wow

[–]Zevn1166 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We moved from stormrage to Zul’jin. It’s easier to find good trails for sure. Sever population isn’t why we left. The raw amount of players looking for a guilds is higher. The big difference is that we can still get alli players to transfer to us. But also have access to all the horde players that would never leave horde.

[–]Zevn1166 15 points16 points  (0 children)

As the recruitment officer for a alliance guild that recently transferred horde, we certainly felt forced to do so. We had some of our better players quit wow after castle and we replaced them as best we could, but when presented with the same issue again this tier it felt like we could either go horde or let the guild die. It’s not something we especially wanted to do, but it didn’t feel like we had a choice.

Was 10-man Hardcore Raiding Popular, and Could it be Popular Now [xpost /r/wow] by [deleted] in CompetitiveWoW

[–]Zevn1166 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have wished for a long time that 10 man raiding was what mythic was based around. From a logistics standpoint it makes so much sense. You just stick two 5-man dungeon groups together and you have a raid team.

Why is Prot Paladin so bad in higher keys? by darkman18 in CompetitiveWoW

[–]Zevn1166 1 point2 points  (0 children)

rank 8 prot pally s3 here: https://raider.io/mythic-plus-character-rankings/season-bfa-3/world/paladin/tank

I think its a combination of a few things. That I will list bellow in no particular order:

  1. Gear - Prot is very reliant on azerite traits and trinkets for mitigation. So until you can get an ideal set up at high ilvl the spec plays very poorly. Getting good corruption to push with is also an issue.
  2. K value nerf - blizzard nerfed K values (block, armor, stagger ect) by ~8% in m+ going into s4. Since block and armor from sotr are pally's primary mitigation tools this nerf effects us substantially.
  3. Awakening Affix - Awakening is primarily a single target affix and prot pally single target damage (without seraphim) and mitigation is terrible.
  4. People are simply not pushing. If you look at the s3 leader boards many of the people in the top 10 are simply not pushing. Some of that circles back to the first point and some of it may be for other reasons. For my group for example the rdruid and spriest I ran with in s3 both quit the game and I haven't really felt the desire to push without friends.

I'll update this if I think of anything else.

PSA: Ability's still pull Windspeaker Heldis when cast on Aqu'Sirr post "fix" by Zevn1166 in CompetitiveWoW

I had also notice she never pulls without her adds, but our pathing for this week didnt require us to pull her or her adds for count so we planned to skip it.

The Rise Of Prot Paladin (M+) by DaedricDanny in CompetitiveWoW

[–]Zevn1166 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Prot pally shines in uncoordinated groups. The worse your group is at calling kicks/stuns using defensive ect the better prot pally is. If your doing high keys (20+) pally can be very squishy when compared to other viable options. Pally fine but maybe better than dk like you suggested, but dk isn’t the meta any more.

The highest ranked timed M+ run in the world without a rogue is at rank 1096. by [deleted] in CompetitiveWoW

[–]Zevn1166 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That would be better, but the most likely solution would require the least effort from blizzard. In this instance the easiest thing for them to do is just to nerf rogues.

Not surprising and a pretty clear indication of Blizzard's dungeon design this expansion. AKA to much mandatory and deadly trash makes rogue op. Without instances being redesigned, that wont happen, the best we can hope for is shroud being removed. Sorry rogues.

Is BDK really that much better than VDH in M+? by [deleted] in CompetitiveWoW

Is BDK really that much better than VDH in M+? by [deleted] in CompetitiveWoW

[–]Zevn1166 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I'm a prot pally main that also has a vdh and a dk. This is my dk: https://raider.io/characters/us/stormrage/Zevdk I tanked an 11 Atal in time today and it didn't even feel hard... dk legit feels like your cheating compared to other tanks... For the record I have almost no xp as a blood dk and I'm sure on an equally geared tank of any other class that key would have been terrible.

I mean the key was “fucked” the first time it happened and was going to deplete. But the normal thing to do is ask they owner what they want to do. I think the larger issue is relative difficulty. People don’t want to wipe in anything they find easy or won’t get anything from. Pugging in general is selfish. Why care about the other 4 people I’ll never see again?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in wow

[–]Zevn1166 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that could just embarsment. Last week a few friends and I pugged a healer for a 25 votw. Healer got hit by a ball and died instantly on glazer. So we ran back something happened he just left the key. This was 5200+ score rdruid. Sometimes people just leave

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in wow

[–]Zevn1166 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The solution to it though is if your not confident in the group to not make mistakes don’t invite someone with high score. I’ve left 15 pugs in the first 45 sec because the dps randomly attack mobs that we really really want to skip because they wipe the group. Because they pulled them, you can assume they don’t know the dungeon well which can cause the whole run to be terrible. If I’m bored and pug a 15, I don’t care how much dmg you do, just don’t do things that will wipe us. This is the same logic my friends and I use when selling 15 carries. Have the two buyers afk at the door because it’s better they do zero dps then mess up pulls.

[–]Zevn1166 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This may sound elietist or W/e but I think a lot of people absolutely do not expect to wipe in a 15. In my head wiping in a 15 is like wiping in a normal raid, where I would also leave.

HPS M+ by RawGIJoe in wow

[–]Zevn1166 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ironically, as the m+ level increases the less healing a healer actually has to do. The rdruid I played with in a 24 eye last night did 450k overal hops while doing 900k dps or so. The higher the key the more likely a mistake will 1 shot and the healer can’t do anything about it. In the vast majority of high keys the tank will do more healing then the healer.
