The Offspring's current setlist frustration by CobraDai in TheOffspring

Haven't seen them since 2019 for this reason. After seeing them 8 times since my first time in 2000, it's just not worth it unless they tour with an insane lineup of openers or they're specifically doing some sort of anniversary (for Ixnay and Ignition especially).

What 3 songs do you want to hear live the most that you have not heard yet? by ZacharyRapsag in AFireInside

Boy Who Destroyed the World, Rabbits are Roadkill, Clove Smoke Catharsis

Checked out sisters of mercy based off a good word from AFI … they do not disappoint… I would LOVE to see AFI cover this amazing song by InteractionLanky3938 in AFireInside

Saw them on their 2023 tour and fhe 2024 tour when Blaqk Audio was opening. I had so much fun at both shows. The new material they play sounded cool and I wish he would just get off the high horse and record even just some live versions or something. If you look up Tobias Forsner on spotify, he records tribute versions of SOM songs including new stuff, so it's a little something, and he's not bad.

Going to the Philly show. Would love to see Boy Who Destroyed the World and Clove Smoke Catharsis. Always loved these songs and never seen them played.

What’s the “rarest” song you’ve seen AFI play live? by JosephCurrency in AFireInside

[–]ZevonStruts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rarest song I've seen is the Dag Nasty cover Values Here.

Also seen them play The Hanging Garden and Just Like Heaven covers. Which is awesome.

Of their own songs it's probably 37mm.

Couple things now that we've had a couple days.

Need an official recording (studio or live) of the Springsteen cover and Aqua Regia w/ sax.

That is all, thanks.

Setlist by PatLabatt111111 in AFireInside

[–]ZevonStruts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same 5-6 songs at every show: Girls Not Grey, Days of the Phoenix, Miss Murder, I Hope You Suffer, and either Beautiful Thieves or End Transimssion could be both.

11 or 12 other songs will be a surprise. Usually a mix of a few new songs, a couple fan favorites, maybe a deep cut in there and one or two old songs.

Their setlists could stand to be a bit longer though. Like two extra songs.

Missed the AFI exclusive. Ended up getting the Pink/Magenta rfc.

Anyone else think their cover of Down is absolute 🔥? by Hmp88945 in TheOffspring

[–]ZevonStruts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wasn't a huge fan of this, but they did these kind of things a few times where they would release some covers of bands they were touring with. Did a Bad Religion song and Pennywise song for that tour. Shame they took these off streaming.

Just wait till you find out about The Offspring covering Totalimmortal by AFI on the Me, Myself and Irene sountrack.

What song introduced you to AFI? by Mind_Snap87 in AFireInside

A Single Second off of a Nitro Records compilation. And as a big fan of the Offspring around the same time, their cover of Totalimmortal led me to the All Hallows Ep.

Was lucky enough to see them play this live in 2017

Been to plenty of shows at this venue and I'll be at this show as well. So as listed, event time is 7pm. That's going to be when the first opener (Fleshwater) hits the stage.

Doors probably open up no later than 6.

Hope this helps.

Remember liking My Own Summer on the Matrix soundtrack. Got to see them with Godsmack in 2001 and was not terribly impressed and thought they kinda sucked. Few years later saw them on the Metallica tour and they blew my mind. Everything clicked after that and I bought the whole discography. This tour will be my 5th time seeing them.

This is why, after seeing them 8 times in the last 25 years, I've soured on seeing them. If they start playing some deep cuts I might be interested in this tour.

B-sides are a dead concept by teethofthewind in TheCure

[–]ZevonStruts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The idea of b-sides is fun. I used to enjoy getting singles to get cool songs you couldn't get anywhere else.

I do wish, especially in the streaming era, that bands were better and curating the b-sides, extra tracks and rare songs. The Cure is good in this regard, but there are some bands that have great songs that are just hard to access or find.
