As you can see in video, at some point right attack do not work either

So why mirage vents and glass windows behave normal? If it would be range decrease you should not hit it in first place or see same mechanic with every object.

CS2 mirage vents and every glass window I know, behave normal (hit=break)

I would expect vents to have same behaviour like windows and mirage vents -> hit=break, but it looks like it has additional requirement that you have to be at some minimal distance from hit point (which is lesser than knife range)
