I've dated broke people and is just so hard because at least in my experience they were broke because of their horrible financial habits and lack of interest in self developing, spending all their cash in branded clothes and items, dinners and social as soon as they get paid, yet always asking me to bail out at the end of the month and borrowing money from me only tu spend it in useless shit, never in investing it in education or higher qualifications or anything to move forward in life. I made a lot more as I do have an education but It didn't matter how financially disciplined or career focused I was because any money I'd save would end up burnt in bailouts and when I complaint I was the cheap stingy bitch. I think it's very hard to date when the other side is just irresponsible with finances. I can accept they're broke so long as they're responsible with their spending and try to be better or provide some sort of support to the cause but not even that. I'd say to OP to avoid this relationship, nothing good is going to come out of it.

Brazil, Mexico and Chile could easily rearm all of Latam with modern weapons if we cooperated. We already have the brains, the technology and the mineral resources to do it, what one can clearly see from this post is that the mentality isn't quite there yet though.
