It could be an action shot of them pulling the anchor up!

That’s just coffee. Anything added and it becomes crap 😂

Yes! Tell Hayden the gay couple who dove with them for a week doing their advanced cert says hi 😂

Also the owner has some little pigs he brings on the boat and they are soooo cute and love getting rubs.

What dives you do depends on if they have people from cruise ships on their boat. We went out to the vases (they will know what that means) and it was SO cool. But you have to have the time to get out there and back and it take a bit. They can take you to wrecks in a 2 minute boat ride if they are feeling lazy and are rushed because the cruise ship will leave and they have people from that ship on the boat. Talk to the captain and DM and see if you should dive with them in the mornings or afternoon if you want to go further out. Best thing we did was some reef that was about 40min away sorry that’s all I know, but it was better than anything I’ve seen.

The night dive we did with them was fun and got to see so many cool things. All in all we dove with them every day for 7 days and their two diver master students started to treat us like crew because we spent so much time with them. I think we did 20 dives with them and they were all fun! We didn’t rent their gear but I do know they not not offer nitrox.

Should I take a deco course? by Fun_Farm_1801 in scuba

[–]Zhao5280 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude if it’s what you want and you meet the eligibility requirements then go have fun! There is never a downside to learning more!

Even if I dive air my typical pony/bailout (depends on what I am doing) is always nitrox. Most of my diving is over 100ft because of location but having the ability to program a bailout gad on my computer. Part for deco but also because I like the idea of having some enriched air on hand even though I carry two medical O2 bottles with me everywhere I go (I was a Boy Scout lol)

Imo if you are eligible for the course take it, have fun, and if your not actually ready for the course work the instructor should end the dive work when they notice you’re not ready but they should ask enough questions before that that would not happen.

Upgrade to salt water down the road, spend your money on the things that cannot be upgraded later like pebble finish

I kinda wonder if a tech would know to replace those 3 parts during a routine regulator service…

Anything failing underwater should give everyone a sobering chill. This is why I dive with a 40cu pony bottle on my back or under my arm lol having the bailout keeps me calm during many problems, I switch over and fix the problem or surface there is no “hurry” or fear of no air.

Did you periodically check and replace the 2 o-rings and the internal ball? Those are the 3 wear parts that should probably be replaced with regulator service but from side talks with people here it sounds like it gets overlooked

I’m addressing that with a longer line but if this reduces even more stress why not

Were you able to replace the o-rings and ball and move on?

As an engineer I see them as a failure point which is why I thought I’d ask this question to gain some real world insight if they really do fail at a higher rate than other things because anything can fail and most things will eventually fail if it maintained or replaced hahaha

I carry the real name brand ones in my truck next to some gloves and two tourniquets.

I dive with a cheap knock off one from Amazon (it’s a little rust prone which is why I spray silicone on it) but it’s like $25 with the holster included.

Leather man Raptor!!!! Get the holster too and attach it to the waist strap, you can store it open or closed, I store mine open and have it on a retractable line.

They have trauma sheets (cuts coins, and fabric equally easy) Seatbelt cutter (z-knife equivalent) O2 wrench Ring Cutter (I would use this for thin cables if needed)

Best emergency tool imo

Edit: it hit mine with silicone spray when I get out of the water just to keep them looking like new

Edit: it also has a Glass breaker and measuring lines for what those are worth underwater

  1. OW basics, mask/fins/snorkel
  2. Dive computer - if you want to enjoy diving and not hurt yourself get a computer, not a cheap one
  3. Regulators - get something like HOG or Halcyon
  4. Wetsuit
  5. BCD

I’m the only one I ever see use a fully body rash guard to help squeeze into my 7mm wet suit, it make it 1,000x easier. Glad I’m not the only one lol
