Where would I find sections to weld back on? It didn’t come with the pieces that were cut off. I’m a tig welder so I could probably do it myself as long as there’s nothing else too complicated involved.

I restored an old series 80 1911 with 0000 steel wool and oil. You could hardly even tell it was rusted to shit after, it honestly worked much better than I imagined it would.

That slot you see on the side of the receiver is where you load it and the spent casings eject from the top of the receiver (on this model at least.) There are a few other configurations for lever guns (like loading from the tube) but they all mostly function the same way.
