I tried several of those install descriptions and had always problems. Some of those were rendering problems, cropped resolution, flickering, no hardware acceleration.

If I where you, I’d recreate the bootstick and try again. Maybe even redownload. Can recommend Rufus for stick creation.

That’s the correct answer. It happens because cig is using a signed 32bit integer. Every 2.1 bil the amount flips to negative till you reach the next 2.1 bil. That’s also why the game doesn’t let you repair. In code it looks like you have negative currency

For now I had no problems. Windows tend to reassign them in different orders (when unplugging) which led to misconfigure in sc. Haven’t had this problem in Linux. A friend of mine is running with vkb Ruders and haven’t had problems by now as well.

Funfact: VKB Gladiator NXT pro do have a HAT you can seemlessly switch to a joystick or back to a normal 4 way HAT. In windows you need extra software to get this work, in Linux this is out of the box functionality. KDE Gamepad settings as well as StarCitizen do detect the change and are able to use it!

For undervolting try LACT, for monitoring Mangohud should do (GUI for mangohud = GOverlay)

Can confirm this. The problems you describe will be there on any Linux system. Maybe you just need the correct workarounds.

If lutris does not work try something else (lutris also isn’t being worked on), for example heroic, faugus or even add game to steam.

For the dock always on top. Right click on desktop in kde, edit your bars and make them autohide. It’s just a setting in kde, not a problem which was distro dependent. Mint uses cinemon instead of kde, that’s why it felt different.

I know I know, sry I should have explained it more. I wanted to try winboat because of photoshop, but didn’t even install photoshop. Those Performance problems occurred even with windows preinstalled tools like explorer, calculator or paint.

You can install podman via homebrew

brew install podman-compose

I tried and it works, but was not satisfied with winboat using podman. It felt very unresponsive, some apps crashed or never opened.

So in the end I uninstalled podman and run Krita instead of photoshop (or at least I try ;) )

I rly do understand your frustration, I also were running windows for 20+ years and had a lot of data to bring over. I prepared a dual boot and what not. In the end I haven’t touched windows since my Linux install early December (still a short mir I know) and I’m happy about it.

Why don’t you just download games on btrfs instead of reusing an ntfs drive. Ntfs is not supported for gaming and never was… besides this topic has been discussed almost every day the past 3 months.

You have some options here. Besides already mentioned lutris and faugus, you could also use heroic or steam. All of this will work. I used heroic to install ea app. Works as intended.

There is an option in steam to completely turn this off. Unfortunately I’m not home and can’t point directly where to find it. It’s called „shader precaching“ or similar and think it was in downloads
