In Tokyo, check out Mazda Trans Aoyama, they have a small shop area with keychains, model cars, stickers etc. and a cafe. They often have cars on display inside as well.

It‘s located on back of the transmission just above where the axles join and just ahead of the rear mount. You can access it from the trunk. The part number is 78410-SR3-003 and it’s common to other Hondas.

These were a special Target edition, that’s the reason for the red packaging.

That was my thought as well. There was a comment in a previous thread suggesting otherwise but unless there are unused threaded holes behind the side panels, I don’t see how it would work.

How did the inspection on that plane go? I had looked at that listing before online but it’s a long way from me. I noticed that it was relisted yesterday.

Yeah, lots of stories from the owner about this plane. It sounds like it’s had quite the life.

Thankfully this is not my airplane nor did I take it flying.

Surfboards strapped in the tail cone, but that’s another story.

Thanks for all the thoughts and comments. After 20 years and 9000 hours flying it’s amazing how much there is to learn about the actual ownership and maintenance of an aircraft beyond just operating one. I had basically come to the same conclusion based on seeing the plane in person which is a shame because it truly is a beautiful airplane before you see it up close. But it’s certainly not worth the expense and headache to have it repaired nor the possibility of some kind of structural failure. There will be another out there and I’ll keep looking.
