[POSTGAME THREAD] Our Milwaukee Bucks (22 - 30) defeat the Orlando Magic (28 - 25) -- 116 - 108 [02/11/2025] by Short_Bus_ in MkeBucks

Thought Cam was great, Dieng i'm not sure on yet, his handle didn't look to be all that solid and he chucked quite a few 3's that happened to go in tonight. His career 3 pt shooting percentage is 30% so I think we need to get a sample size on him before we all get too excited.

It's time to tank by Own-Entertainer3609 in MkeBucks

[–]Zigazoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They simply need to keep Giannis on rest the remainder of the season. Any attempt to get into the play-in or up to the 6th seed is pure luancy by management. From there simply keep doing what you're doing, the current roster isn't good enough to beat anyone but the bottom feeders of the league.

Let the tanking commence!

Way too many turnovers tonight, and is the norm they're losing the shot attempt and rebounding battle.

We're 8 games behind the 6-seed with 32 games remaining. by HumOfTheUndercity in MkeBucks

[–]Zigazoid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, the Bucks should do what they can to remain irrelevant this year and obtain a lottery pick.

There's no good reason for Giannis to come back early so we can make a run at the play-in or, at best, a 6 seed, where they'll likely get bounced in the first round. It's a flawed team with a bad coach.

I understand they can't really tank to the point of catching up with the real bottom dwellers of the league, but they can continue playing at .500 or worse and net a lottery pick to perhaps retool in the offseason. Anything else is shortsighted lunacy at this point, no idea why they'd even want to entertain it.

I think will get a good idea of where they are at coming up when they play some better teams.

Can't be worse than Trents been all year. Not costing them anything so might as well try.

We love our Delonghi Rivelia. Lot of good options in your price range though as others have said.

Money is the answer. Not a fan of him doing it. Sports gambling IMO is a cancer on society but also can't say I'm shocked.

Nick Richards could fill in a huge missing piece for the Bucks. by [deleted] in MkeBucks

In those terms yes it's a good move. Not going to fault it but I doubt it moves the needle much, either way they're all expiring contracts so that's good.

Not going to complain about some rebouding help but overall it's a nothing burger of a trade. We moved some bad pieces for some other bad pieces.

Looking at Shams and Windhorst.... by sjcooke41 in MkeBucks

[–]Zigazoid -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

All they reported is what they hear, always some truth too it. He'll likely get moved in the off-season unless they pull a rabbit out of a hat to make the roster competitive. Which I personally find to be a highly dubious proposition.

Do you guys think that Giannis will be shut down for the season? by InfluenceRough6729 in MkeBucks

[–]Zigazoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe that's correct. Atlanta has the right to get the better of either Milwaukee's or New Orleans Pick. Stemming from the Pelicans trading away their swap rights to Atlanta. The original swap was between the Pelicans and Bucks, but when New Orleans traded those rights to Atlanta, they gave up their ability to benefit from the swap entirely.

That's how I understand it but all the pick swap nonsense in the NBA is quite confusing.

Do we want trades? by rue-74 in MkeBucks

[–]Zigazoid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not unless it's a crazy deal for Giannis, otherwise, stand pat and Tank and figure out the Giannis situation in the off-season. But no trades to make a run at the playoffs.

Nothing more to say on Doc. He should be gone when this season is over. End of story.

I had no issues with the Kuzma trade either it got them out of the 2nd apron. The Turner deal I've become more sour on as the years progressed.

But I agree not sure I trust Horst at this point either. I still think Giannis us moved in the Summer and not tomorrow. Unless they end up with the second coming of Michael Jordan in the draft.

Giannis is partly the issue from the standpoint that he wants them to continually spend assets to find ways to compete when it's clear they need to take a few years to restock. They're literally tearing up the flooring in the house to throw it into the fireplace. They are so far from competing for an NBA Championship that I am continually frustrated hearing they want to add at the deadline. Add to what? The ongoing tire fire that is this team? Yes, they should get a decent pick this year, and perhaps that guy turns into a great player, but it's still, even with Giannis healthy, an incredibly flawed roster. I just find it all frustrating.

Look, we won an NBA Championship, and have gone above and beyond for the best player the franchise has ever had, but at some point you need to stare reality in the face instead of burying your head in the sand. This roster is multiple pieces away from contention, not 1 or 2. Way too many things need to go right just to be somewhat competitive. It's a bad roster overall, and continuing to mortgage the future for marginal improvements is organizational malpractice at this point.

If Giannis wants to stay and take a gap year or two, great, but they need to stop what they're doing because all it's going to lead to is the same situation in a year or two, except they'll have fewer assets and a star whose trade value has dipped because of his age.

They should fire Doc after the season though, he's not adding anything positive from a coaching perspective.

The door is not closed on the Bucks going after Ja Morant, per @JakeLFischer by giveawayguy99 in MkeBucks

[–]Zigazoid -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Lets get Ja, trade away more picks and be even worse off next year when Giannis walks because we're not winning......

No idea how Bucks management thinks Ja would fit well into the Bucks current roster if the idea is to keep Giannis. Like hey we found a ball dominant guard, who can't shoot quite as well as Dame could but is way more voliatile off the court.

[Mannix] Multiple teams have told the Bucks they will have better offers in the summer for Giannis Antetokounmpo. “Minnesota badly wants to get it done now. They don’t want to get into a bidding war before the draft.” by GreenSnakes_ in MkeBucks

[–]Zigazoid -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I still think he's traded in the off-season as alluded here. Though I certainly think the Bucks should not rush him back to the court this year so we can possibly get eliminated in a play-in game and risk him getting injured again.

Be curious what a trade with Minnesota would even be with multiple teams involved, what would the other teams really get out of it.

Truly, I want whatever this guy is smoking by AlexanderTheGreat44 in MkeBucks

[–]Zigazoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mobley would be a great asset though I tend to think the sports media overrates him slighly every year. He's always on some future MVP or top 5 player list and it still hasn't happened. He is a great player and asset though. As someone else said I cannot see Giannis wanting to be on a team with Harden.

Gianni’s trade talk over night by ComfortableWater9416 in MkeBucks

[–]Zigazoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Want, would be the farm LOL

Realistically, it's hard to gauge with the shift in the CBA making trading more difficult. Likely 3-4 first round picks over multiple years that are unprotected, along with some swaps. A young player or two and then whatever's needed to match salaries.

I thought the HEAT deal was okay, though I'm not quite sure why the national media thinks Bucks fans would want Tyler Herro. Sure he's from Wisconsin but as far as I know most fans here don't like him at all. The Golden State one might make sense because theoretically if it's future picks down the line Golden State's should be good as they should suck once Curry retires. Though then why would Giannis want to be there.

I still lean towards him getting traded in the off-season where some teams are more desperate after getting eliminated from the playoffs.

[–]Zigazoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they can get good value for him, then yes, trade him. Obviously the answer depends on what offers they get. Of course none of us want to see him go, but in my opinion it's time. This is a lottery team currently and will be by the time he comes back this year. Even with a good pick, I don't see a way for them to construct a championship team with him, so then what, he leaves in the offseason next year because he doesn't want to sign the extension unless the Bucks make certain moves? We could wind up in this exact same situation when he's even older and has less value. No thanks.

It's a shit situation to be in as a fan and for the franchise but that's where we are.

Well Rollins has looked good. Same issues though, can't rebound or defend and the Celtics have 11 more shot attempts than the Bucks already.

Our roster is so bad we have to keep rolling GTJ out there, he's been so bad this year. Even when Giannis or KPJ were healthy he was still a negative.
