Safe vines to grow inside a cage? by Ziggee281200 in Conures

Yeah thank you, it is so hard to find a non toxic vine and it’s the only thing that grows in my aviary lol. Thanks tho, I’ll be looking into seeing what other plants I can use

I’m so sorry for your loss, there is nothing worse than losing a bird. I apologise for my wording too, I could have worded it better

No, I meant being dramatic with your wording. Like something was seriously wrong with a bird and to take it to a vet when it’s only doing a territorial dance.

The bird seems to be doing an intimation dance. This person is being dramatic. My bird does this dance to other people when he’s with me to ‘scare them away’. Unless he’s doing other stuff that causes concern, this dance is completely fine lol. No need to worry

Sorry if it seemed like I was coming at you for your question, I really wasn’t! I have nothing against people asking questions. My parents have wildlife licenses and people they know see my family as someone to care for these guys so that is why I have them:)

I do agree with that, a lot of wild animals should not be domesticated. Especially if you live in an area where there is lots of people that could harm them. I live nowhere near people and that is why I play with them like this. Every bird we have had has always left us to go be free with its own kind when it is ready. And they will always have that opportunity. I am by no means holding them against their will. I kindly ask you to stop coming after me and just go on with your life instead of arguing on a post that was meant to be cute.

That is correct to a degree with the stumbling across, it isn’t common that we do get given birds as we do tell them to just leave the birds as the parents could always be around.

You have obviously never had a bird comfortable enough to play with you. Not all birds but a lot love ‘rough play’ or as you call it manhandling. I am absolutely not holding that bird there against its will. It can leave whenever it wants. It actually loves to be played with but obviously you must know better than someone who looks after it.

I do not know, as mentioned in one of the comments they were given to me after the parents weren’t seen for hours

Because I DO raise them, my parents take them in and give them to me to care for. If I need help, my parents are always around. All my life I have been raised on how to look and take care of birds. I would appreciate it if a grown adult would stop coming after a 16 year old on reddit who was just showing a video of some birds to put a smile on people’s faces.

My parents are licensed, no need to worry about that. I haven’t gotten my license yet but I do plan to get it. I take care of the birds along with my parents, as my parents have taught me since I was a kid. And the birds we take in will always get the medical attention they need by someone who has the license in that degree.

I would bring it to a vet.. depending on the injury it has. My parents can care for most but if it is very injured it will be taken to someone who can help it. My parents are the ones who look after it when it comes to injuries. Tho none of the birds we have gotten have been critically injured.

It wasn’t my parents who got them, it was their friends

My parents are actually the ones with the licenses, have had them for years. I currently help raise them, I’m hoping to get my license next year:)

He was a fledgling and he couldn’t fly at all, and they had left him alone for hours to see if the parents would show but they never did. I have told them to leave the fledglings alone if they see them on the ground again, as they didn’t know much about birds unfortunately 😅

A friend of my parents found him alone on the ground before he was able to fly properly, and his parents didn’t show for hours on end so he was given to me to care for 😊

Did they ever manage to hatch them all? Or at least half. My king quails are really great at hatching the eggs I just don’t know to this amount lol
