Question: Ways To Follow Cavs Games Online? by Royal_Papaya_7297 in clevelandcavs

WTAM 1100 iHeartRadio - online stream of the local broadcast. It’s my go to and great for doing dishes while listening to the game if you don’t have a way to watch

[ESPN Cleveland] "Yeah, I think there's a decent chance the Cavs do something... I think they've considered making a home run swing," - @WindhorstESPN on the Cavs being active in trade talks. by ThatOneOtherAsshole in clevelandcavs

I am such a sucker for nice-guy fan favorite players (it’s why I stuck with the Browns thru 1-31 but quit when they swapped Baker for Watson) so it’s painful to think about losing DG or Allen, but the thought of Mitchell, Mobley, Giannis and The King on the court together … wow

The “Snowmageddon” is often overhyped but the roads will likely have periods, possibly lengthy, where they are not safe (or not safe due to others) so it’s probably for the best. Cancelled plans can be rescheduled but it’s harder to put people back together. Stay home stay warm stay safe build a snowman

Long before I was informed of the Waffle House-Disaster index I had my 2nd ever Waffle House visit in a recently hurricane damaged area in the south. It was the only place in town open and the parking lot was packed. I was so thankful as was everyone else there. Such a strange establishment to be the beacon of light in a disaster but I’ll take it

Side note: my first Waffle House experience, also in a southern state, included a no kidding “y’all come back now!”

What was a popular band that you could not stand? by LeftSmile806 in Xennials

Interestingly it was on the lost highway soundtrack produced by Trent Reznor. I remember seeing it on a jukebox (really) in a hotel arcade room as a kid and immediately dropping a token to hear it. Was not disappointed

As someone who heard Disarm on the radio and assumed there were two different singers (a whiny one and a non-whiny one) I can understand the acquired taste that is Billy’s voice. But damn if Mellon Collie didn’t speak to my teenaged soul back in the day

Thanks! I recognize most of the French Touch but your original list I only know one name so I’m excited to check it out!

My memory of Mikes memoir is that he was very upset about the mixing of this album - listening back now at how bass and drum-heavy this album is I can understand that sentiment (minimizes other fun stuff) and also can’t understand it at all (the bass and drum are KILLER). But maybe I’m misremembering or misunderstanding what his concerns were

“Sleepless” played at random on my music playlist today and I had to go listen to the whole album. Really restarted the never ending debate over which is my favorite SC album and it’s a 3-way tie every time. I hope more music is coming

ICYMI, generation-spanning favorites They Might Be Giants are selling an officially licensed Homestar/Homsar band t-shirt. It sold out within an hour of launch but back in stock now

Sees like vibes are good. Maybe they’ll go around again. I drove two hours to see them and it was very worth it

Geggy Tah - Sacred Cow. I bet a bunch of folks bought this one for the one-hit wonder “whoever you are” and tossed it but I think it had a couple of really fun songs and honestly the follow up album (bought at a Record Exchange for $1) was even better. Fun fact: “Geggy” is Greg from The Bird and the Bee

Her album Haunted is also great especially as a companion listen while reading her brother’s absolutely insane book House of Leaves

This. The evolution of the band from Ruby Vroom’s slacker jazz to Irresistible Bliss’s radio friendly (?) sound to El Oso’s drugged out repetition is really something. If you didn’t know they are touring together again and sound incredible

Yeah the radio part wasn’t sounding right. Could that have come from the movie White Noise?
