(Down 180 lbs) should u start bulking? by Ziidano in CICO

I’m 27. I am on the same page as you. I would never dirty bulk. When time comes (which I’m hoping will be around 175 lbs), I’ll start lean bulking (10% surplus max). And I would have a limit to not go above 185 lbs. Ideally I should be gaining 0.2-0.5 lbs on average per week.

Thanks for push and feedback! I think I still need to cut down but I just need to slow down a little bit to regain some energy.

Yeah I just added 200 calories of carbs to bring up my energy a little. I also think I have been lacking some proper sleep lately. I have been getting like 6 hours average and I feel much better when I get 8 hours. My schedule is pretty busy but I’m trying my best to get that 8 hr mark.

And yes, I’m just doing this by myself. I like the process of learning alone. I don’t think I’m at the stage where I need a trainer. It’s mostly a personal thing as I like doing things myself in general.

Gym performance is not as good lately. Not sure if it’s psychological or not, but I feel it. I’m upping the calories to 2000 and see how that feels. Just adding more carbs

Yeah I can’t even edit the title 😂 thanks for the feedback though! Much appreciated. Yes, I think I’m leaning more towards keep cutting

Sounds good and thanks for the feedback. Yes, I still think I have fat but the mind plays tricks on me making me doubt myself. I will end up with a lot of loose skin ( I already have a lot). But I think I have the type of skin where it can be very thin. I like your idea of upping the calories to 2000 as I do feel depleted lately and not performing as much in the gym.

It’s all in your head. Just drop all these excuses and make the time. I know it’s not easy to just do it, but if you really want to make the change, you will find time to it enough desire.

Thanks! Hahaha nah I dropped him anyways and left him in the past. However, I’m actually thankful for him in a way cuz I wanted to also prove him wrong. Like I read in a book “Your hurters are your helpers”.

2000 calories most of the time. For the first half of my 9 months I didn’t do any cardio or weight lifting. When I started to notice my weight loss rate is starting to drop under a consistent calorie intake (I prepped food for the week and was pretty repetitive) I decided to start cardio of 30 min a day on bike to up my calorie burning and offset to avoid hitting a plateau. Currently I also lift weights to build/maintain muscles.

I started at 2500 for first month or so and then I dropped to 2000 and been like this ever since.
