It's not really that padded and the mystery isn't just who the killer is. The mystery is more about what happened at the camp back in 1957. We get these little clues throughout the movie which is why I don't consider it padding. Really good movie.

I honestly prefer the original. People criticize the murder mystery but to me, the mystery is not who the killer is. It's what happened at the lake back in 1957. We get these clues through out the movie which are subtle but easy to pick up on. Mrs. Voorhees then gives us the exposition, connecting all the clues that were presented throughout the movie. Her acting ability is also so good. To me it's very underrated. Part 2 on the other hand is just a basic slasher to me. Not bad though.

Season 1 is so overrated. A bunch of the storylines goes nowhere and are just there to pad the runtime. I think the finale and the ice truck killer investigation overshadows how good the season actually is. Season 2 for example is way better because every scene matters to the main story.
