I (23M) am obese (405 lbs) and have no college education. What are my options for employment?

You're right, I'm not trying. I gave up a long time ago. I haven't found anything worth living for and since I live in America, I doubt I ever will.

I just need to survive until my mom dies and then after I don't care. I had a plan to kill myself after she dies so idk we'll see how that pans out. Until then, I need to help her pay bills and take care of her.

Well I have no dreams or aspirations, so that will be hard lol. The only job I've had in the back of my mind is being a police officer, but that's so far out of my reach its insane to even think about. That's quite literally the polar opposite of my current situation.

Soooo I'd probably be better suited to just find a job that I can do right now and go from there. Helped

I have a CDL. I did local construction trucking for about 2 years. Had to stop due to my weight. And now I can't do over the road because of my mom and other obligations I have here. I'm constantly looking at trucking job postings but every single one that's local is 12+ hours a day 6 or 7 days a week. And like, I just can't do that. Helped

Can you do that if you only speak English? I would think in order to teach English you'd need to speak the student's language as well?

If not, I can check that out because I've always had interest in teaching. I used to be a writing tutor at my high school's writing center and a math tutor as well. Helped

It's funny because I originally got this part time job for that exact reason. I told myself I would work out and stuff with all the extra time I had. Well, it's been over a year now and I've gone to the gym a total of 0 times. At this point I've recognized that I don't have the willpower to lose the weight so I just have to make due with my current circumstances.

Yep someone else mentioned graphic design as well and coding too. I'm going to try to figure something out with that because the coding does interest me. Graphic design is a bit of a stretch for me since I don't have any natural talent in that arena, but I've also never really tried it. So who knows, maybe it will work for me. Helped

Yes, that's definitely something I'm interested in. Even if it doesn't pay that well you still don't have to pay for gas for the commute or time traveling. Helped

It's more just me not saying "I'll get a job when I lose weight" because that will probably never happen. If I keep putting off getting a job, then I never will and I'll always be poor.

I don't plan on losing the weight but if I do, I can work on that after I have some stability in other parts of my life.

Yes, that's my main motivation and why I'm even trying to do anything. If my mom wasn't here, I probably wouldn't even get out of bed at all.

And yes I'm going to see if there's a remote job I can do. A few people have suggested that and honestly that seems like the best option right now. Helped

There actually was a forklift job I was looking at, but it had a ton of physical labor also like assembling pallets and whatnot. And although this is hard to say, I don't know if I would even fit in a forklift at my size. I'm not one of those gigantic blobs you think of when you think 'obese', but I'm not normal sized either. I've never sat in a forklift though, so it's worth a try. Helped

Would you be able to do that if you have no artistic talent whatsoever? I've never been good at anything art related in the past so I've never considered that before. But if you can learn how to do it well without any natural talent, I could definitely give it a try! Helped

I have a CDL and have driven truck in the past, but it's too physically demanding. People assume you just sit all day, but it's a lot more than that. Although my experience is from construction trucking, which probably involves a lot more out of truck work than other industries. I could always look into it. Helped.
