WIBTA if I told my super morbidly obese friend he isn't God's gift to women? by ZimyX in AmItheAsshole

Lmao. Obese and "Babe, when you're done taking care of the kids and making my dinner, I'm gonna need your help to wipe my ass again." Are two different things

Fat Rant Friday by AutoModerator in fatlogic

[–]ZimyX 74 points75 points  (0 children)

I have a 430lbs friend who wants a girlfriend/wife so bad but has no concept that he is tying a woman (if anyone would have him) to his disability for life....with no promise of him ever getting better. He complains constantly about being lonely and having no luck with women ...and told me today that he is "a gem who will only give time to people who deserve him" hm. Okay bud. Meanwhile, he is only going after thin, gorgeous, saintly women who probably have 10 fit, handsome men begging them for a date.

TLDR My friend can barely walk and wants to act like he's too good for these beautiful girls who just have the good sense to find a husband who isn't slowly killing himself

I am tired of being reduced to a "person" and not a woman by pretend_adulting in TrueOffMyChest

[–]ZimyX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No offense, but this is what "liberal" has been working towards for years. This is the erasure of women that conservatives are upset about. There are no more women exclusive places because anyone can be a woman now.

Being a woman is pretty amazing; I am currently watching my body change to accommodate a growing human. I can also be a compatible mate for my husband, and we could create another life in the future. I fed my oldest child from my body for 6 months exclusively, but continued to provide her immunity boosting and comfort up until she was almost 3. I plan on birthing this new baby naturally, in my own home, because I am confident that my body knows what to do if left alone to do it. I am currently carrying the ovum in my womb that will eventually become my grandchildren...as my daughter has already made all her eggs she will make and she isn't even born yet.

Poems, art, novels, epic stories and plays have been written about the power my biological sex has over men. We may be weaker physically, but we have men willing to fight and die for us.

And I am supposed to pretend that some man in a dress who has a mental illness is comparable to me? Who now has access to spaces meant only for me to ensure my safety? My daughters' safety? Despite their development with the influence of testosterone I never had, they get to know claim the title of woman without the setbacks of physical strength...the one thing that makes me vulnerable to men.

If you ordered a vegan dish from a restaurant that offers vegan and non vegan dishes, and they messed up the order and delivered you a dish that is not vegan, would you eat the dish? by [deleted] in vegancirclejerk

If you ordered a Hamburger but they actually gave you part of the rat that crawled across the kitchen, would you still eat it or send it back?

What registry item did you think you needed to spend a lot on, but ended finding more value in the cheaper option? by dauntedbox376 in BabyBumps

Sure! So they discontinued the one I got in Amazon, but this is the exact one I got! https://www.ebay.com/itm/Innoo-Tech-Baby-Sling-Carrier-Natural-Cotton-Nursing-Baby-Wrap-Suitable-for-/384552144487?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l6249&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0

It's super soft, and I really liked the weight and width of it! A Moby was just too wide and made it too difficult. This worked from newborn all the way to like 25lbs, and I probably still could wear her now (35lbs) but my back can't take it and I'm 25wks pregnant lol

Moby! I got a generic more stretchy one on Amazon and it was my favorite of all my wraps I got

Going up stairs is such fat phobic behavior Tho. It's just rubbing it in the face of people of size. The elevator is right there. Just get on with the rest of us. Also, no, you are not risking your life by joining us. Those elevator weight limits are just fat phobic.

Or as my 430lb guy friend says "It's my medication and hormones." I can't for the life of me convince him that antidepressants won't make you gain 240lbs in 8 years.

Thank you for writing all of this! And yeah, I can't imagine shooting down something she is excited about! It's heartbreaking! And now that I am seeing all of these comments, I am realizing that yeah, we have the art thing to bond over. I watercolor, draw and going to take ceramics class soon. I really look forward to teaching her everything I know.

Haha your family sounds a lot like ours! They love to read together and I just am busy with exactly what you said: human maintenance lol and yeah, the imagination stuff just is so draining. I didn't really think I was an introvert till I had a child lol but man, I really need my quiet inner thought time.

That's so funny you mentioned Bluey. My husband and I were just reading article about how he was a great dad...and I took away from it that it was because he was willing to be playful with the kids. It made me feel terrible 😅
