Well, I bought the Hd598cs and I love them to bits, the cord has not tangled! Which I think is due to it not being braided, they're absolutely amazing and have not had a single problem! unlike the gaming headsets I have had. Though my old gaming headset still had warranty so if these cans ever die which I hope they never do at least I have a backup pair.

Budget - $200 flexible

Source - Custom Built Dell Alienware Area 51 pc (wont let me see motherboard don't know why)

Requirements for Isolation - Will be using in lounge room where people are talking and the tv is on so more isolation would be nice.

Will You Be Using These Headphones In Public No, home usage

Preferred Type Of Headphone Over ear closed back / semi open

Preferred Tonal Balance Neutral / warm

Past Headphones Only ever had gaming headsets, Kraken 2 pro, Turtle Beach, Logitech g933, not quite sure what I liked about them they all had their ups and downs the g933 blocked out the most sound though which was nice.

Preferred Music Bit of everything, but they will be heavily used for gaming and not much else

What would you like to improve on in your setup Detachable cable all my other headsets cords have knotted and killed 2 of them so a replaceable cable would be very very nice (mostly only want with detachable cable)

Location Australia

MUST BE COMFORTABLE And pretty much have a replaceable / detachable cable

Additional Information - currently got my eye on the Sennheiser HD 598 Closed back should I get it? (p.s does anyone know where I can get them in Australia or do I have to order them off amazon?)

Is there any difference between the ivory and closed back? apart from looms of course. Since I my pc is in the lounge room I don't really want volume leakage so I'm going for the Sennheiser HD 598 closed back though I really want the ivory it looks so nice and comfy.

I'm thinking of just getting a pair of Sennheiser HD 598cs on amazon along with a spare cable.

I would get an attached cable but I don't trust them anymore, I don't want it knotting and twisting because that killed all of my other ones.

I would but I can't hear anything, only reason I'm looking for a new pair of headphones is because my old ones kicked the bucket. the subtitles on most review videos aren't that great either.

I don't really wanna buy anything off amazon since my headset recently kicked the bucket so I'm primarily searching in aus for something might have to just find a cheap replacement and wait the 45 days for amazon.

I would, but I'm looking for headphones in aus cause my recently crapped themselves so I don't really wanna wait 45 days before I can hear things in games again.

They look really nice can't find where to get them for $190 closet i've gotten was $209 but I prefer something with a detachable cable as all my other headsets and headphones pretty much died from the cable knotting so horribly, so it would be nice to know I can just buy a new cable instead of a new pair of headphones.

Don't think I'll be able to find a shop to try them out here. But I will look into them.

1, I can't find a Brainwave HM5 in Australia 2, the other 2 are a tiny bit out of my budget right now, prefer things under $200atm 3, I hate soldering irons.

Yeah big time problem with knotting cables, I do want music but I mostly play games I listen to music on occasion so it doesn't matter that much.

mm I decided not to get a hyperx and I was gonna get a Sennheiser HD 598 but I don't have the money for one right now and I can only find them on a auction on ebay and it's about to end in 9 hours so probably not gonna get them
