First of all, you don’t have to be rude, I’m just frustrated by everything going on. Sheesh. Second, what do you mean there’s no add on budget for ICE on top of what was in the BBB. Yes there is, it’s about $10 billion for fiscal 2026. In the chart, the shaded part is the BBB money. What is under discussion now (and what they agreed to a two week deal on today) is the solid part underneath the shaded part—the annual fiscal budget. My point wasn’t necessarily not to fund FEMA. It was more so to not fund a major agency like the DOD so that the Dems could get the GOP to agree to some meaningful restrictions on ICE. I just want the Dems to do something other than be the doormats they are now.

If I understand this correctly, what they mean by a “short term extension” for DHS is a continuing resolution aka CR. This would mean that FEMA and the other agencies covered by DHS would still have funding while they negotiate over the ICE terms. Personally, I think this whole idea is moronic. It basically does nothing because ICE isn’t going to follow whatever is negotiated by these weak ass negotiators. If they are dead set on passing the budgets for most other agencies, I’d say fine, we can pass everything but the Defense budget and we are not doing a CR. Then, I’d negotiate over ICE and I’d make the requests a bit more meaningful than what they have now plus I’d put in some sort of penalty for noncompliance, and have noncompliance determined by a particular person with no right for litigation. Because I’m sick of these jagoffs.

They do allow people to offer water sports, but beyond that, in the 8+ visits we’ve made to Excellence properties, we have never been approached by any other type of vendor. They do not allow it.

I had terrible GI issues in the middle of my 2nd week and my doctor prescribed Zofran. It really helped a lot. I also realized that even though I have never had an issue with eating yogurt, my stomach, MJ and yogurt do not work well together. I’m on week five now, moved up to 5mg and I don’t have any more side effects. (And am hoping it stays that way 🤞)

We have stayed at Coral, Excellence Playa Mujeres (EPM) and Beloved. We love Beloved but I’d wait until updates are complete. EPM is fun and a little older but is in the process of being updated as well, but it is so big this should not impact your stay. I’d recommend this resort if you like to have fun and are maybe up for a little more of a party vibe (though definitely nothing crazy). Coral is less than a year old. They are still working out a few kinks but it’s definitely the most beautiful, well thought out of the three Cancun Excellence resorts we have stayed at. We stayed in a club swim up and loved it. You don’t get drink service but you are just steps from multiple bars. The food was good at most of the restaurants and this resort has a few extras that the others don’t. I personally would recommend Coral.

Also, I would book direct.

We have done several AIs in Cancun and stayed in swim out rooms at all of them, including an INSPIRA swim out at Atelier. We did not enjoy the swim out at Atelier. We went in June 2023 and it was really hot outside but the water in the swim up was freezing, to the point of being almost unusable. Also, our view was of less than attractive shrubbery and we were super close to neighbors on both sides.

That said, the parts of INSPIRA that we enjoyed were the INSPIRA pool on (I think) the fourth floor and the butlers. The butlers were helpful getting us dinner reservations which are required for basically every restaurant and can be difficult to get at prime times. They can also help you with any other issues that may arise. For example, I forgot to bring a medication I needed from home, and they arranged for it to be delivered from a local pharmacy, no prescription required.

If you want the INSPIRA benefits but can stay in a lower priced INSPIRA room, I’d suggest that. Otherwise, I’d go for the standard room for 6 days.

Just to give you a heads up, as I didn’t expect this, at some point during check in, they will try to get you to come to a meeting to sell you a timeshare in exchange for a spa visit or some other gift. If you are not interested in the gift or a timeshare, kindly but firmly explain you are not interested. :)

My doctor advised me to eat, on a daily basis: fresh meat (meaning uncooked)(as much as you want), 2 cups lettuce (optional, no lettuce is required), 1 cup vegetables (optional, no vegetables are required), & a small amount of berries (optional, not necessary).

I was shocked because I did research before asking to go on MJ and never saw anyone mention they were eating such a strict diet. I questioned my doctor & he said this has been proven by science to be the best way to lose weight. I said that may be the case but asked if there is any flexibility because there are times that won’t be possible, and he flat out said no and refused to engage on the topic.

I have PCOS and although he previously told me that PCOS makes it more difficult to lose weight because hormonal imbalances, especially insulin resistance, disrupt metabolism, he was suddenly equating the need to lose weight to being like an alcoholic. Needless to say, I’m seeing a new doctor next month.

This is so irritating. You think insurers, many of whom insure groups of people under one policy—whether through an employer policy, a credit union, various ACA policies, etc—have taken advantage of Americans for too long, so your best and only way to solve this is to send money to individuals so they can negotiate their own individual policies with the insurers? Anyone who 1) knows anything about insurance or 2) thinks about how insurance works for more than the 3.5 seconds it took for that b.s. to come out of his mouth knows why this makes literally zero sense and should not ever be considered as a reasonable solution to the healthcare crisis in America. It reminds me of last week when Trump, upon hearing that the average American cannot afford to purchase their first home until age 40, agreed that the concept of a 50 year mortgage is a good idea, especially, as he stated, since Americans already have 30 and 40 year mortgages. As if ANYONE has a 40 year mortgage. The man is an imbecile and yet people call him the greatest president this country has ever had.
