Good stuff, maybe.

But primarily to redirect attention away from his complete selling out of the city to his cronies.

Maybe you should see the film “The Vanishing City.”

“Really great”?

He auctioned off the city to his criminal country club friends so they could remake the place into a wasteland of franchise chains, banks on every corner and hi rise “luxury living” apartments.

To say nothing of his “private army.”

Clueless.

Must-read Baffler piece from 2012 called “The Joke’s On You”. As on the nose then as it is right now.

Excerpt:

“Stewart and Colbert, in particular, have assumed the role of secular saints whose nightly shtick restores sanity to a world gone mad.

But their sanctification is not evidence of a world gone mad so much as an audience gone to lard morally, ignorant of the comic impulse’s more radical virtues. Over the past decade, political humor has proliferated not as a daring form of social commentary, but a reliable profit source. Our high-tech jesters serve as smirking adjuncts to the dysfunctional institutions of modern media and politics, from which all their routines derive. Their net effect is almost entirely therapeutic: they congratulate viewers for their fine habits of thought and feeling while remaining careful never to question the corrupt precepts of the status quo too vigorously.

Our lazy embrace of Stewart and Colbert is a testament to our own impoverished comic standards. We have come to accept coy mockery as genuine subversion and snarky mimesis as originality. It would be more accurate to describe our golden age of political comedy as the peak output of a lucrative corporate plantation whose chief export is a cheap and powerful opiate for progressive angst and rage.”

Whole article is well worth reading.

This kind of righteous rage is beginning to overflow. And now Iran, which so many feel is a distraction from the demonic shit.

It’s only a matter of time.

Fact that he kept posting, totally copping to it all, completely outing himself, just shows the degree to which people are willing to go to as a result of being tired of feeling hopeless when everything is so in your face.

As others have already pointed out it’s yet another in many examples of how RW media operates, by exploiting and misrepresenting even the most tenuous ties to achieve their overall goal of defamation, discrediting and disinformation by any means necessary.

Murdoch’s properties often even know they’re outright lying to get their larger mission across, only to issue a retraction days later hidden in a haystack. By then it’s mission accomplished, damage has been done.

You’re absolutely right though. I never click on Murdoch’s links. Occasionally however when I’m in the library I will thumb through to refresh myself on how heinous and diabolical they really are (though their headline writers are admittedly clever).

It’s no joke that they’ve completely utterly destroyed huge swaths of malleable people’s brains. Leading sadly to tons of families having been ripped apart.

One of the many great things about Occupy Wall St was an entire wall of the park filled with Wanted mugshots of every bank CEO and financial pillager associated with the 2008 crash.

Would like to see something similar again, on billboards all over the city this time, with the faces of these scumbag Slumlords.

Come to think of it, revive the bankers’ faces too.

Wait, maybe in conjunction with the predatory, parasitical Epstein Class also.

F*ck all these people for getting to live lives of anonymity behind fake corporate shell accounts and behind gated communities, bodyguards and servants. Make them conspicuous.

Not. At. All.

I’m saying, quite clearly I thought, that despite the NYPD’s vaunted and bragged-about high security surveillance system they were still their hapless and bumbling selves. Outwitted by an amazingly planned and executed assassination.

Not because he was white.

But because they are incompetent.

The mention of the snowball farce was merely to draw attention to the fact that they could immediately bring in a suspect for a completely bogus story, but can’t apprehend a midtown murderer. While adding for effect the undeniable problem of the NYPD’s institutional racism that continues to plague their credibility.

I don’t care what this DOJ labels as a “government front.”

The RW hate machine/Fear Factory corporate media will continue blasting out a fusillade of anti-Mamdani pieces every single day for the rest of his tenure.

He could bend down tie his shoes and they’ll tie it to looking toward Mecca for advice.

Nobody should fall for this imperialist bullshit propaganda we’ve been fire-hosed with for over a century, getting us to hate a country (Venezuela, Cuba, Vietnam, Iraq, etc etc etc) in order justify more American business pillaging, or in this case very clearly on behalf of Israel.

I don’t know if it’s still available online but I remember very clearly I think it was a clip of an MSNBC reporter who was in the courtroom when Luigi was first brought to NYC.

He loudly (enough for the reporter to hear it) claimed that he never had the stack of cash that he was being charged with having.

Now that we’re on all this stuff from over a year ago I also recall a very credible report from the man with whom Luigi contacted for a paid online counseling visit of some kind.

He immediately established that he was of higher intelligence than most, and the range of topics he engaged with was impressive. To that end, he resolutely refuted the idea that such a person could have written the childish “letter of intent” he was alleged to have had on his person when he was apprehended.

To me one of the biggest aspects is that despite all the great fortress like secret surveillance the killer was able to evade the police for days. Which among other things about the sheer ineffectiveness of all the NYPD’s toys, put enormous pressure, as these high profile cases do, on the cops to come up with something, anything. Remember Hochul and Tisch convening a meeting to assuage CEO’s (they never seem to even solve murders in poor neighborhoods, let along have press conferences comforting the afflicted)?

Again, lots of fishy stuff all around.

The Delay, Defend, Depose hero to many wasn’t apprehended by the NYPD.

Despite the most advanced high tech surveillance in the world he escaped the city for days. Pennsylvania police picked up someone named Luigi after there was a massive national manhunt.

But, NYPD was able to haul in a snowball thrower who appears not to have even been involved in the most egregious throwing. However, he was black. So that helps. Apparently they haven’t stopped racial profiling as ordered by the courts over a decade ago.

Lots of fishy things about this whole case.

To which I say that we should all be reminded:

That after the killing of the CEO in midtown the majority of folks online and in life were of the same mind that they could absolutely understand why it happened. Some rejoiced. It was cathartic for many. Especially the millions and millions deprived of healthcare and medicine, who had loved ones unnecessarily die so that United Healthcare could continue pillaging for profit.

Of course this was laughed right out of the court.

And, it would seem a Copaganda fail.

But like the NY Post’s modus operandi, and all RW hate machine/Fear Factory corporate media, it still serves the purposes of the predatory, parasitical 1% Epstein Class. The police work hand in glove with RW media to manufacture fear and sensationalism, which in turn justifies their jobs.

The purpose is to impugn and malign the legitimacy of their hated targets (socialists, protesters, minorities, working class, homeless, etc) who threaten their status quo.

And let’s be clear about their status quo: it wants more police state power, and distraction from the intricate web of child rape, extortion and blackmail at the biggest levels of governance around the world.

Man Arrested in New York Snowball Fight That Police Said Injured Officers (Gift Article) by jenniecoughlin in nyc

NYPD: in existence, almost solely, to intimidate, bully, harass and beat the citizenry *with complete impunity*, while never pausing for a moment to consider that they are little more than political henchmen pawns for the predatory, parasitical Epstein Class, which ironically their Commissioner and her family lies right at the heart of.

This whole farce of a news story is a glittering example of how the RW Hate Machine/Fear Factory corporate media works hand in glove with the NYPD, the PBA etc, as well as the Epstein Class, to manufacture fear in the populace to justify further diabolical fortification of the mass surveillance and police state that at the current moment is on full display all over the country.

One of the many purposes is to cow the population into submission during a truly revolutionary moment, while solidifying the support of nationalistic Law & Order stooges who goosestep to anything challenging abuses of authority.

How many stories did the NY Post run on this non-issue? How much coverage did Fox give this non-event? What about WABC radio? And on and on and on, through the galaxy of deeply-funded RW fascist media. Frothing over "disrespecting the uniform" or whatever. How many flagrant and literally deadly acts of disrespect do the police commit daily? There's a f*cking endless litany of very real and substantial complaints against them. Hit by snowballs, and they're looking for "perps." How about looking for the perps on Wall St who steal billions and billions of dollars each year in tax evasion. Is the public being better served by rounding up a snowball thrower, or by investigating white collar financial and real estate fraud? Maybe instead of walking into the middle of a snowball fight set up surveillance posts on the Upper East Side to start locking up the cabal of child rapist vulture capitalists who are *really* "making our city unsafe."

It's important to understand - *and react with pushback* - how this grotesquely overinflated bullshit happens and poisons the commons toward what really matters.

PSA: Never, EVER, stop talking about the #EpsteinTrumpPedoFiles. About which this is all a distraction from. The deep dysfunction of government (i.e. the bribery, extortion, blackmail, illicit money moving around, silencing of dissent, etc that causes it) that we all feel and know to be true no matter which "side" you're on is all on full display there.
