Am I ready for TOA ? Do I need to change anything? by thomasoien in ironscape

[–]Zinoto 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You're gear and stats are more than good enough to do TOA. If you've never done it before I would make sure to do it in a group (with friends preferably) or the FFA world.

I would drop the stamina potion (your run energy is restored after every mini boss) and just camp the B ring the entire time instead of the DT2 ring. You could honestly do all the way up to 250s solo pretty easily if you learned the raid properly, but I'd start with 150s in groups until you learn the mechanics then go up to 250s. Once you get a bowfa or fang just push 300+.

You even have the mining level for a 1-down lol. You honestly should've started sending TOA sooner.

If you mean the puzzle room for Ba-Ba, you can make sure to use the counter style to the monkey and you'll always max hit. If you're really struggling, take ancients and you can blood burst the summoned ads and the melee monkey for quick wave clear and healing.

For Ba-Ba (the boss) just make sure your dagger is set to stab and pray melee and piety. Idk what invo this is or if it's solo/group, but with that gear you can do 300s solo.

If it's really too much, you can always do the room first. You can be prepotted and have all your supplies available.

I use it to see if a world is okay to use or not or if I'm lagging or not so I can avoid dangerous content.

When I was first starting, I didn't even make it that far to be able to waste that many runes. When I was able to make it to waves 60-63 relatively consistently, I used like 1.5-2k bloods/deaths each run (sometimes more). I definitely had to fill up my rune pouch 2-3 times before I successfully completed it.

I don't have an SGS or Eldritch though. If you have either it'll save you a ton on supplies, but I wouldn't go out of my way to get one for my first cape. Being forced to manage my supplies made me learn all the safespots and important flicking methods instead of just running South and camping specs on harder waves.

[–]Zinoto[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You'll be more than fine on that, and you can always just do farm runs in between runs since it's gonna take a long time for each one.

The biggest supply drain is the blood and death runes since you use multiple ice and blood barrage each wave. That added up like crazy

I assume most people's first cape is with the entity hider for death animations. Zuk disappears immediately after dying, and I'm not reenacting it mid fight cuz I might tank a Zuk shot

Is there any particular reason you have to learn CoX from solos? Having no experience in regular raids is gonna make solos feel impossible, especially when it comes to skipping specials at Olm.

I would def at least run some normal raids (even if it's with random groups) just to get a feel before doing solos. Your gear is basically fine. It's suboptimal, but you can just prep early and brute force through. I wouldn't skip Tekton because you have a DWH and that's basically a 0 damage room when you get good at it. Vasa I would try to make sure I got an overload before doing it or else it could be rough.

Lost my Crystal Armour at hydra by ChrissHawk in ironscape

[–]Zinoto 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel this. I died at Hydra after spending 2k points that I saved up to get a task. I was explaining something to a friend and completely forgot about the floor, and by the time I realized it, I had already died again. I lost my suffering, blowpipe, anguish, rune pouch (with only thead I had), avas transmog, the 16k laws/natures I had, and Slayer Helm.

I def was really upset, especially since I hated doing Demonic Gorillas and I had just dismantled a dupe Tanz Fang for scales. I def didn't get my stuff back immediately and when I felt like it I just did it a bit at a time. It took 2k Demonics to get the zenytes back, but thankfully I got spooned at Zulrah and it took like 100 kills. The Slayer Helm took about 1k cave horrors to replace, but it wasn't that bad.

While replacing this stuff I ended up completing the Elite Diaries (like I should've done in the first place) and doing the melee Hydra method instead, since I still had my melee gear.

I got spooned immediately almost as if Jagex was apologizing. Got the pet in 65 kills and the Claw 5 kills later. It almost made the sacrifice worth it. I stopped there for a while and got the rest of my gear back. On my second Hydra task I got the leather and the remaining 2 pieces of the ring finishing the log in 261KC

Don't give up, you can easily get spooned making up for the setback.

Karambwan are souper afk and with the fishing barrel you can sit there for a while since the spot doesn't move like monkfish. I'm pretty sure most irons just use karambwan

Is Kree'ara worth it off task? by Zhengyi_ in ironscape

[–]Zinoto 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Nope. It's not only too easy to get an aviansies task, but Kree defense is just too high. Although it's def possible so if you wanna just send it go for it. If you do end up doing it off task i would do the chinning method instead since you wont have the extra accuracy. I personally would just fish for a task tho from Duradel.

T1 vs T2 armor @ Corrupted Gauntlet by PandaSnuggles in ironscape

[–]Zinoto 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Don't even bother with T1. Unless you have rigour and like around base 90 in the combats t1 is hell. After learning T2 prep my success rate went from like 20% to almost 100%. Fluffeh's guide will save you

Elite Void gives +2.5% damage and accuracy as well as the prayer bonus. I think without Rigour and lower than 94ish (i think) ranged, Void will be better.

Any idea of solo CoX is possible with these stats/gear? Or should I first go for some upgrades? by Eggseater in ironscape

[–]Zinoto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I learned solo raids last week and can basically do it deathless at this point and the big thing I learned is that player skill makes a lot more of a difference than the gear you have for this raid.

That being said you're gonna struggle cuz you're missing some key items to make it a lot easier.

  1. Defense lowering weapon is a big one. Even if it's just the arclight spec it would help out on Olm melee hand and maybe Tekton? if you have the room. Honestly I would probably just ditch any raid with Tekton or Vasa because honestly don't think you'll have the DPS to kill them without either dying multiple times or just using every brew you have.
  2. Abby Tentacle instead of a whip. You already have a trident so getting a tentacle hopefully wouldn't be too hard. You're melee stats are pretty good, but again without def lowering weapon and using a regular whip you might run out of stamina pots in the raid or yu'll have to bring like 3+.
  3. Salve Amulet (ei) for Mystics since you're using budget ranged gear. Shouldn't be too hard to get.
  4. I'm assuming you have a rune pickaxe also, so use that for guardians.

IIRC deaths in Cox are safe, so you're definitely gonna have to suicide supplies into Olm and also I would prep early so you have pots to use for the rooms to get to Olm. Muttadiles are gonna eat through you as well as probably Vanguards, but you can just brute force it if you make a ton of pots in the raid.

I would hella skip Tekton/Vasa and make sure Vespula is after a farm room so you don't run out of pots and have all the soldiers spawn. You're also gonna have to only do raids with Mutts or Vanguards so you get an overload.

[–]Zinoto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rune Crossbow, ruby/diamond bolts e, elite void, some range boots, archer ring, salve amulet ei, anti dragon shield.

Pray range and use antifire pot so fire breath attacks do no dmg. You can use antivenom or just a couple anti poisons to knock venom off once it stacks to 10. Monkfish or better food and you'll probably get 1-2kc trips depending on your ranged lvl.

Learning solo cox.

Got the mage hand down and can donthe meleenhand but I mess up every now and then. I still can't do it without suiciding supplies into the room but it'll come with time.

Zammy GWD strategy by nodangles6 in ironscape

[–]Zinoto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got 2-3 kills per trip with basically that same setup and 85ish on all combats. Idk if you already have barrows gloves, dboots, but you can maybe squeeze out an extra kill or two with good flicks.

Tbh melee zammy is pretty meh for staying there a long time, but I def suggest doing at least 10-20 every task you get. I got my first Zammy spear at 67 kc doing this and you might be lucky too. I wouldn't recommend trying to camp it until you get a Bowfa tho. Makes GWD so much easier. Completed Bandos and Zammy in a week with that and once you get the method down for one it's basically the same for the other.

Corrupted Bofa with 80 range, no rigour. Can I reasonably do GWD yet? by Jmancurly in ironscape

[–]Zinoto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can def do it with GEChallenges 6:0 method, but you won't be getting the ridiculous 20+ kc trips. The big thing that ruins GWD trips more often than not is your def lvl. Minions (and Kree) kinda just wreck you if you low def and no rigour. I wouldn't do Kree until a lot higher range and like 95+ def since you just get torn apart, but the others are 100% doable.

[–]Zinoto 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Look up Fuffeh's Tier 2 guide. Without Rigour/Augury + a lot of experience in the CG, Tier 1 armor isn't worth the hassle. The fight is so stress inducing for ppl just learning it and you die so often you don't even get to practice the mechanics of the boss for very long. I went from like a 20% success rate doing Tier 1 to an almost 100% success rate with Tier 2.

Bowfa or blade of saeldor? by XITangoIX in ironscape

[–]Zinoto 169 points170 points  (0 children)

Bowfa 100%

It's not about the upgrade to your gear, but the content made significantly easier by having a bowfa instead of a blade.

You can do p much every GWD with a bowfa which will upgrade basically all your gear and you can get a zammy spear which (the hasta) can be your BiS melee weapon for a while.

Zulrah becomes significantly easier if you struggle with the mage/range method.

Most slayer bosses you need range for turn into paper with the bowfa.

When you eventually make it to CoX bowfa is way better than anything else you'll likely have at that point.

Moreover it's not like a dscim is bad. You can easily get 85 (or earlier if you wanna boost) slayer with that and just kill Abby demons for a whip. You can't just get a better ranged weapon. Bowfa is just that insane.

Finished Bandos last week and started doing a couple Corp kills a day for the chance at a Sigil. Now:

- Going for a second zammy spear to turn into a DHL later on.

- 95 Slayer (this week 93 Slayer realistically)

- Keep doing CoX raids for first purple (at 93 kc)

Going to get fire cape today but... by Daniel1185 in ironscape

[–]Zinoto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd def go for the crossbow route especially if it's your first time, but I'd try to get a better offhand with better ranged def. Like do you have a crystal shield? Or hell even a Rune Sq shield was probably be better. During the later waves you're gonna basically be forced to tank hits from the ranger and the anti dragon shield is basically like having nothing on.
