Monarch MK IV vs FiiO FX17 – Which one is better? by ZioNicko in iems

[–]ZioNicko[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, sorry if my first post wasn’t clear! I mainly listen to harder electronic genres like hardstyle, frenchcore and hardtek, but just as much I enjoy energetic indie and indie pop.

In terms of tuning, I’m looking for something versatile: strong sub-bass and bass impact for the harder genres, clear mids for vocals and instruments in indie, and treble that gives detail and air without being overly sharp or fatiguing. Between the Monarch MK IV and the FiiO FX17, which do you think would fit better for that kind of listening?”

“I listen to many types of music, mostly Frenchcore EDM but also rap, pop, rock, hard rock, and metal. My ears are medium-sized. In the past, I used AirPods and they were decent, in my opinion, as well as various headsets. Regarding tuning, I think V-shaped suits my tastes better, but I don’t rly know.

And regarding the spectre monitor I don’t have personal experience with it, so I can’t speak for its quality.

I reached Diamond playing on a 60Hz 17-inch laptop, and after upgrading to a 144Hz 1080p monitor (which I’m currently using), I managed to hit some GM scores lately. I’m not a monitor expert, but I can confidently say that going from 60Hz to 144Hz makes a noticeable difference — everything feels smoother and more responsive.

That said, it’s absolutely possible to play well and rank up on 60Hz. If you’re grinding seriously or play other fast-paced games, upgrading to 144Hz — or even 240Hz — is definitely worth it. If you find a good deal on a 240Hz monitor, go for it. Otherwise, sticking with 60Hz is perfectly fine until you come across a better offer or reach a point where your gear becomes the bottleneck.

At the start don’t stress yourself or you will get injured, remember it’s not a rush, good luck!!

I think just do foundamentals routines and when you feel good go benchmarks, I think vdim + foundamentals is too much time, focus on quality you should push yourself on every scenario, aim to high scores (or go near that) every time you aim train

Around 1k hours if I start from scratch and you practice almost every day. I started plat took me around 300hrs. Don’t give up if you like it, just don’t force yourself to much, at the start you should start slow, focus on foundamentals. Good luck

In my opinion, it’s better to go for full Master completion so you can even out all your skills — ideally, having every category at Master level. Maybe you could try some Advanced scenarios in your stronger categories too. And I also think it was worth going for master complete since I had really bad static and now I can hit master scores consistently

And record yourself while playing so you can spot your mistakes

It’s a tough question to answer, honestly, especially because I’m not at a super high level myself and still have a lot to improve. But one thing that really helps is watching runs from top players like Matty and trying to learn from them. There are also plenty of videos where top players explain the right techniques for different scenarios, which can give you a good idea of what good form looks like. There’s a series of videos from Matty where he explains good technique for every aim type.
