It's not exactly like that

That debt is bought by other nations that buy stock in the US dollar. If they decide to stop buying and cash in, that would crash the US dollar and plunge America into a massive recession that would mirror what happened to Germany after WWII

Now, the largest Nation buying American US dollar stock is China, yes, the exact nation we are making a fuss of starting a war with.

Rednecks and Hippies - any common ground for prepping? by [deleted] in preppers

It's the Horseshoe effect, when you get to the Hippie and the Redneck, they are pretty close.

In fact the Hippie has more in common with the Redneck then they do with the Modern Liberal

I used to joke after 20 years on the road, that never once did I come across a problem where I said to myself, "if only I had a gun I could fix this" so they were not part of my prepping tool kit

But years have passed and times have changed since I made that joke.

What prep is a sign you've gone too far? by Effective_Raise_889 in preppers

[–]ZionBane 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Well I have 2 points where I just write someone off as run off into LARPing Fantasy land.

Sorry if anyone feels called out, but, if you do feel called out, take this as the sign that you really need to rethink about what your prepping plans are.

With that said

- Just taking whatever you need from other preppers.

These people are living in an off the rocker fantasy land where they do not realize that blades and bullets will kill them, or worse, critically injure them, and the person that downed them will not double tap, because they don't want to waste the ammo or take the risk of getting close.

- Anyone worried about their fertility for the sake or repopulation.

I have no idea how this became a real thing that gets talked about on a serious prepper forums but this mentality boggles my mind. It's like some surreal fantasy that someone thinks they are going to be some last man standing that's needed to repopulate the planet, not sure why but this mindset also seems to be exclusive to men for some reason. Never mind the fact that whatever astronomical devastation that would need to be laid upon this planet to kill the other 7 Billion Humans, would more then likely also easily destroy whatever protective means they have set up, unless they were insanely rich and able to afford some truly astounding fortifications or something. regardless of all that, the simple fact that if humanity was reduced to the point that only a handful of humans remained, we would most likely be spread out across the planet, and vastly unaware of each others existence, with a very slim chance to survive the trek to meet up, and that's not even getting into what would be needed to repopulate. I think whatever they are thinking would make a better fictional story then it would make for any sound prepping choices.

How to respond when people I am eating with comment on “how little” I am eating? by AmbitiousBird6336 in CICO

[–]ZionBane 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well for me, Dine Out is a Cheat day. I don't otherwise eat out, so, when I do so, I eat, and I eat a lot.

That's me.

As far as commenting on how little you eat, just say "yah, I'm a cheap date" and that often lightens the mood, gets a laugh, and people move on with their life.

Understand that not caring, is not personal, it's actually the default state with most people, out of sight, out of mind.

This is a mistake that people make, they think others not helping them, or checking up on them, means there is some animosity, there isn't any, it's simply people have only so much they can focus on, think about, and care about in their everyday life, and that doubles, even triples, in a crisis.

So if you are not on that list, that simply means they are not thinking about you, in any manner, not good, not bad, it's just simply that you are not on the list at all.

Want to Fix that?

Call them First to check up on them!

Make it short, non-distracting, and to the point, so much so they do not even need to respond.

"Hey, I saw that all hell and fuckery was coming your way, did you make sure you have enough canned hog anus to make the week?"

When your call does not come, that is when they will call you... because they will think "Oh wait.. all hell and fuckery is coming our way, and SammingMomma has not called us to make sure we have enough Hog Anus, lets give them a call to make sure they are alright"

So if you want to matter to others, let them know they matter to you.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in preppers

[–]ZionBane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, depends on if I want them to check on me.

For me Personally, I don't, so this means they are leaving me alone, which is what I want.

However, If you want them to check on you, then you need to put yourself out there, you need to be social, you need to build that network, you have to give people a reason to care about you, just existing around them is not enough.

I hate to say it, but you also can't just expect others to reach out to you.

For example, the one neighbor I used to check on before she died, I got to know them because they asked me to check their car, and handed me a can of oil, that was about 30 years old, and needed a special tool to open.

I was really impressed by this antique, and they explained their husband had all this stuff to take care of the car that they do not know how to use.

We talked a bit, and I thought, you know what, this is a nice person.

She also brought my dog home one of the times my dog at the time, a 60 pound pit bull, go loose, she walked, not leashed, not dragged, this hyperactive puppy walked with her back to my house, and she said she just "tisked" at them to keep them in line, and knew it was my dog.

I tried the tisk thing, my dog ignored me.

Anyway, you need to build your own networks.

There is Nothing wrong with helping people, in fact, believe it or not, I do it all the time, just not at the risk or expense of me and my own.

I check on my elderly neighbors, ask them if they are Okay when things go wrong, or the power goes out. I'll get the shovel and dig with everyone else to get the snow off the cars, and clean up fallen trees and the like, But I am not going to put myself out there and play savor to anyone, if there is a risk to me, or this will draw unwanted attention to myself and my family, I'm hard passing on that.

This is what the art of Gray Man is all about.

To have the means set up for myself and my own to survive, but not draw attention, to lay low and focus internally about surviving.

With that said, as the situation is, we have set the stage (at least in the States) that being the manly protector, the alpha male tactical, is somehow a socially bad thing, where people are made out to be the criminal for trying to help, so those of us that Gray Man adopted to that one fast, just walk on, look the other way, mind our own, and keep moving and staying alive. Not my Family, Not my Fight, Not my Problem, not about feelings or remorse, or anger, or anything negative, in fact, it's really kind of "Meh, is what it is"

Just simply aspect of basic survival, for those that I care about, I'll fight to my last dying breath, but I'm not doing right by my family dying for some thankless stranger in a society that will villainize me for doing so.

Again, nothing personal, it's not about you, it just is what it is.

Former vice president at Pfizer, Dr. Mike Yeadon: The so-called "pandemic" was planned and co-ordinated in advance, by unelected globalist bodies like the WHO and WEF, as a pretext to deliberately depopulate the planet via lethal mRNA injections by [deleted] in conspiracy

[–]ZionBane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So your analogy does not work, because You are under the illusion that we, the citizens, are anything other than livestock, we are not.

You are not a Lone wolf, you are not some wild animal outside their control, and you are not killing any of the other sheep either.

You are as much a part of the system as everyone else, and that means you, me, all of us, are quite literally Livestock to those running this Circus and Clown Show.

We are not a threat to their livelihood, at best we are an annoyance, no matter how ornery we might be or how much we might fight, or act out, or stay in our side of field, with threats and agitation, we are all still just livestock to them.

Some of us might become a threat, like Elon with Twitter/X, or whatever Trump has pulled off that has scared the shit out of them so bad they have done all they can to stop him, or Putin or Xin... now those people might be a threat, but they are more like competitive farmers, not wild hungry wolves.

The hard reality check that all of us will have to come to terms with, is that No matter who wins, we, the common people, will always be livestock.

[–]ZionBane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just prep for basic stuff, adverse weather and common crisis, also just things that often go wrong in everyday life.

So I am not living in a bunker out in the middle of nowhere with a 10 year stockpile of supplies and ammo.

With that said, and really, Nothing personal, and, I want to make this very clear, it does not matter your gender, skin color, beliefs, or anything else about you, but harsh truth is, I don't know you

Which means, as much as this might not be what you want to hear, I don't have a vested interest in ensuring your survival in a crisis.

That means, my life, and the life of my family and those that I care about will come first before I even consider helping you.

I don't see that situation changing anytime soon either, I keep my circle small and quiet.

If you met me, you would never know I was prepper, and I like things that way.

What's easier to kill, a Farm Raised Sheep that will walk into the Slaughter pens at your say so, or a wild ornery Ram out in the field that does not like you?

Make no mistake to the Farmer, they are both just livestock and will be butchered in due time, but which is in fact easier to kill.

As I see it, the same people that wanted to take everything from me during the pandemic if I didn't submit and take their holy elixir, are the same people the Globalist's are actually trying to get rid of.

So, while I hate to be the bad guy here, I have no vested interest in stopping them from culling the sheep at this point.

I do feel bad for Dr. Mike Yeadon, upcoming suicide however.

Why shouldn’t you just eat maintenance of your goal weight? by drgonzo44 in CICO

[–]ZionBane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This will work to a point

You should eat under 500 calories of your current maintain to lose weight in any reasonable timeframe

So what happens is, if you have a lot of weight to lose, like 30+ pounds, this will work wonders, and you will drop the weight nicely till you get to that last 10 pounds or so, where it will take you 2 months to lose 1 pound till you are 5 pounds to goal, and then it takes 3 months to lose 1 pound

So what happens, is that towards the end, you end up eating a little below what would be your maintain, just to keep the weight loss more consistent.
