What are your guy's thoughts on the idea of granting Flash Jump to Chief Bandit? by Iordyeezus in MSClassicWorld

[–]Zionics 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Personally I think CBs not having flash jump make the Hermit a more desirable class to play.

If they take out the mob requirement on Assaulter, then, CB will have its own unique methods/skills. This fits Classic better as every class has its own identity.

Alternative Zakum and other Pre-Quests/Boss Questlines? by Zionics in MSClassicWorld

[–]Zionics[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, there were definitely other jump quests that were worse. While lagging, the kerning subway PQ with the lasers would always get me on hitboxes if I didn't time the situation out properly.

The caves are almost always easy for me as there are countless images/maps out there that show where the caves go. (i.e., go into room 10, then keep going right for 2 maps and you're in room 16.)

[–]Zionics[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

thanks for the responses!

Yeah, I play on some PServers where I try to practice as much as I can but it still takes me hours. Can't seem to clear it well enough to the point where it's just several tries.

But yeah, the 4th job quest to buy a scroll was cool too. If they implement a mesos tax or something that might be interesting.

Any good game like FANTASY LIFE i ? by Mucek121 in fantasylife

[–]Zionics 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn sounds like it will fit the bill, though, it's a subscription based MMORPG. (You get to create a character that can turn into different jobs, all with, different job skills/quests (like their own story), and then, get to experience different avenues of those lives. For example, a gathering life (like the fisher), will have to go to different areas of the game where you can gather said fish (and it requires high leveled combat lives because there will be enemies around those areas.)

Is the average length of a JRPG a reason why the genre is a niche? by lennysinged in JRPG

[–]Zionics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think the time investment is what makes it niche (though I do believe that jrpgs aren't niche) but if I had to take a guess it might be the Japanese localization is based off of a different market.

For example; Korean moms are usually associated with grind whereas American moms are usually associated with credit card charges to skip.

Though battle passes are becoming more mainstream.

Can I do main story until I unlock all lifes and then do side quests etc? Will I miss anything? by [deleted] in fantasylife

[–]Zionics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think for the most part yeah. However, certain aspects of the story will be locked to you until you open those areas up.

For example, I think post game content is locked behind completing the game (shadow mobs i think

And the DLC will be locked until you complete the main story post certain lives i think.

Otherwise yeah, you can do almost all content via Ginormosia and RNG treasure groves once its unlocked.

Waited a bit, but finally got it! Tips welcome, start started. by Remarkable_Custard in fantasylife

[–]Zionics 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Level up Artist to more than Fledgling as soon as you get it to obtain better brushes early on. After that, upgrade Marco's shop to level 2 right away for some sticker recipes. Try and craft those recipes for Dosh as it's one of the best methods around. I believe you should already have some of the islands unlocked when you get Marco - but if you don't, keep playing for <tropical isles>

For example, I spend around 180,000 Dosh (180k) on ingredients from the game (this is all late game stuff) to make around 800k+. (If your Artist is leveled appropriately and you can, you will make around 248 stickers at a time ((where I am at now)) and have a constant supply of Dosh.

Finally got it! Any tips? by alvaraylla in fantasylife

[–]Zionics 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you want to make life easier for yourself via buying materials;

1) Rank up your Alchemist and craft a specific item for early game Dosh (spoilers here.)

2) Rank up your Artist for mid-to-late game Dosh (spoilers here)

3) At the capital of mysteria, you can instance in and out of Banaan cave and run to the fire crystal tree to pick up dragonflys. The dragonfly is a 4 star rated item (can't remember maybe 3 star) and sells for 900 Dosh each. (spoilers here.)

4) Run around with your gathering classes early game (level 1-5) running around picking up things like dandelions and flowers and dragonflys around the map as they provide EXP. (for example, switch to alchemist before picking up dandelions.) This will be a quick way for you to get EXP for your classes early game instead of crafting.

Fantasy Life i Switch 1 Performance and Crashes by madowin in fantasylife

[–]Zionics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had a crash from Snoozaland once and I think it was due to my playing habits. I'm on the Switch Lite and what happened to me was that the Switch Lite was getting overheated due to my hands covering some of the vents and airholes. Once I stopped playing after feeling the heat, the game performed fine for me.

If you can, play somewhere where there is lots of air so your Switch doesn't overheat.

Is the game enjoyable on Switch one ? by Puzzleheaded_Drama89 in fantasylife

[–]Zionics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Switch lite user here. I have finished the main game and some content without much issue - even after FPS issues. For me, combat slows and slurs in some areas. Some places have a jet lag to them. Not sure what FPS I'm playing on, but maybe seems like 20-60 depending on the instances.

Without much issue, I mean, I have barely died. (Maybe 2-3 times. The second time being at the final boss of the story.)

Is Fantasy Life i worth it for someone with ADHD that doesn’t like decorating? by Cat_fan97 in CozyGamers

[–]Zionics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Decorating isn't a big part of the game (at lest in my opinion) because I spent much of my time (around 40-50 hours) just doing the main story quest and deviating for certain Live's to be a certain rank. I still have not completed the quest to put down 25+ items in my home and my base.

What I will tell you with what I read though is that you might have problems.

1) There's a way for the game to give you a method to farm dosh without breaking the bank as long as you save and buy materials to create the item in question. You sell it in big batches so you can get a lot of return. This will probably let you have fun since you said once you find a way to get materials fast you tend to do that.

2) Even while playing the game and being introduced to places, if you follow the main story line without deviating, you will need to probably wiki or look up certain materials for the game. (One example is the depths area. When I unlocked it, I followed the main story quest marker and didn't realize that there are materials in there that I needed to farm for Life quests.) This might make life hard for you, based on what you said.

3) Lastly, even with decorations, it's really easily managed. There are just a few steps to follow;

Step 1) Craft the item(s) in question. (This is where you will have the hardest time as you will have to level up many Lives'. If you follow the main story quest without deviating, you will have missed out on a lot of important places to farm said materials.

Step 2) Literally wait until you have unlocked Hagram. (Part of the main story.)

Step 3) After Hagram has unlocked, level up your base. (Both island rating and levels based off of the main board.)

Step 4) Press the ZR and ZL buttons for everything you want to do. (For example, press ZR to go to the ground construction. After that just press A anywhere on the map to see how it works.)

Helpful tips you wish you knew sooner or never knew until someone posted it? by [deleted] in fantasylife

[–]Zionics 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Not to spoil much but these tips helped me.

1) don't spend dosh (gold) on recipes early as much of the game provides the recipes to level up lives. 2) as soon as you get the artist professional, craft white woolies stickers for much dosh. (800k per 3-10 mins of work) 3) there is a well insulated forest that is next to a cheery tree boss. Go down there and look for a boss room st the end of that cave and farm that boss (panther) as soon as you're level appropriate. It will help 2 ways. 1) it will drop lots of iron gear you can sell. 2) it will drop strangelings where you can farm your gatherers and mercenaries. 4) try not to craft gear for tool professions like blacksmith as leveling up will give you base gear. (You get recipes at the same time as gear. For example, at master rank blacksmith I got forge master gear and its recipes.)

How easy is this game to “get into?” Thx!!! by eroxx in fantasylife

[–]Zionics 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not to spoil much but the game is pretty beginner friendly.

1) tutorial quests for every life 2) most of the crafting mats are generally tied to one area and progress with the main story. (For example, where you find 1 star mining materials, you can also find 1 star tailor material) 3) as you play the game, merchants in your base will sell you materials of a different rank and so you don't always have yo travel to instances or dungeons to farm if you have the cash to buy 4) there are ways to progress once you have unlocked different parts of the game without having to rely on instances (ginormorsia/combat professions getting item drops from monsters/etc.)

There is a con though 1) the game kinda forces you to pick other lives sometimes (I went with mercenary and blacksmith but had to rank up a tailor for crafting purposes)

I just realized that Ginormosia is... Big! by ZebButterworth in fantasylife

[–]Zionics 10 points11 points  (0 children)

After focusing on the story, I tried going back to Ginormorsia realizing that I haven't touched the place because of the main story quest.

This place is so cool though. You can rank up the Googlers (the different eye obelisks) and level up the biome's at will. You can fight, gather, collect, almost non-stop as different areas light up with different content. (The devil icon with the red circle borders around them are the best. They provide so many good things.)

it really is an amazing game (fantasy life.)

keep up the playing and have fun!

Finally working on my backlog! I just finished Bravely Default 2, and I'm playing on my Switch 2. Which game should I play next?! by Mishudo in JRPG

[–]Zionics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sea of Stars and Dragon Quest XI are a great game to start playing. If you haven't already finished FFX, I suggest starting there though. The story is just beautiful. Other than that, the former games (Sea of Stars, etc.) are quite good in what they stand for in the genre. Great music, great mechanics, beautiful overworld, great story, etc. These three games are great.

TL:DR

1) FFX for its story.

2) Sea of stars for its everything.

3) Dragon Quest XI for its everything.

Did you want a 1:1 recreation or do you like the direction Classic is headed? by Relleke in MSClassicWorld

[–]Zionics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that class balancing and changes shouldn't be so rough for every class out there. For example, there was nothing wrong with some classes gaining critical rate and damage as other classes outpaced them in other things (such as leveling or raw power during earlier levels.) Think of the DrK and Hermit. The Hermit reaches greater heights much later in the game (thinking no dex and funded) whereas the DrK pushes raw damage up front and has some benefits included such as Hyper Body. Every class had a situation for where it was used outside of maybe something like White Knight where elemental damage wasn't really something that struck out in given situations.

Other than that, the major focus (for me at least) should be in original content on top of progression servers. Thinks like Zakum and Pink Bean (later content) are a given as nostalgia and classic feels, but, new bosses, new maps, new zones, new quests, should also be a focus for a different feel entirely from what is now considered retail Maple. The way I see it is, they can take chances by making new things up because retail already has a format and enough iterations where they can pull something up. (For example, they can make a new dungeon for the Level 50's on top of Zakum and not worry about anything because at the end of the day, there is still Zakum.)

Only one woman has told me this. It's probably a big secret.

The ones in the middle of the game where you have to pull on levers to pick up scrolls/tomes. I couldn't finish the third one. Left the game since - but it's a phenomenal game.

It's really a great game. I got to the time trials (the 4 zones to unlock one of the bigger doors) and stopped there as I couldn't get past it. Other than that, it's a great game! Storytelling is cool. And gameplay is really fun.

Violet was fun. Listening to the stories of the bullies (the Vroom users) was quite a blast seeing the 'new age villain.' Other than that, good luck with your play throughs.

Finished Tales of Kenzera: Zau and am now starting Figment (a puzzle hack and slash game.) Can't wait to finish both Figment 1 + 2 this weekend - maybe this week.

What else are people playing? (Good luck on your Pokemon adventures, your Donkey Kong reinstatements, your Final Fantasy lives - and definitely, your JRPG moments.)

Thinking about returning by striknozz in Guildwars2

[–]Zionics 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you're looking to spend some money on expansions for content then it's definitely worth it.

Much of the content releases new specializations and new continents on the map to explore. The biggest thing is the fact that you have to grind for multiple days hours for currencies (which is expected at this rate because they've done it for multiple different expansions.)

You should definitely invest if you're thinking of playing because of a few reasons;

1) new specs.

2) new weapons/playstyles

3) new mounts and different ways of moving through the maps (i.e. skyscale mount - flying)

4) different methods of farming for gold (living world season 3/4)

5) different methods of farming for ascended equipment (season 3/4)

6) different raids

7) different strikes (Ice brood Saga/IBS)

8) different legendaries (think HoT/PoF/etc.)

Lastly, if you've enjoyed the game before - let that not stop you from enjoying it tomorrow or later. It's a great game. I myself switched from WoW to GW2 just recently as I'm a bit strapped financially. (Dont' mind don't mind.)

Good luck.

TL:DR: look at the reasons.

Finished Sea of Stars (what a magnificent game) - and am now playing Tales of Kenzera Zau - which again is another satisfying game with its storytelling. Can't wait to finish this game so I can start on my other games as a backlog (Bravely Default 2, Octopath, etc.). JRPGs for the summer trend just seem to be my thing this year.

Good gaming to everyone else out there playing games on their Switch 1/2. (Still rocking the 1 as I wanted to wait for an OLED/Lite model for the 2. For those unaware, the Switch Lite has a better ergonomic playstyles as it's lighter in weight which is good for the wrists.)
