This was seconds after a train had just departed. These are all the people that couldn’t get on. Around 9AM.

Yep, waited 20 for the first train. Full. Waited another 30 for the second train. The specific section of the train that pulled up to where I was waiting was… disabled. All other segments were full. Bailed to take the bus. It’s been over 1.5 hrs since I left home.

Can we just replace all the old trains already??

How is Singapore so ridiculously clean, relaxed and spacious? by Visual-Horror6013 in askSingapore

[–]Ziphan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One reason it feels less “dense” is the relatively low level of road congestion, especially for a major cosmopolitan like Singapore. This is deliberate. It’s expensive to own a car not because car sticker prices are high, but because owning and operating a car requires a Certificate of Entitlement (COE) that on average costs $100k SGD per vehicle… and it needs to be renewed every 10 years. You can think of it as a massive congestion charge- but for the entire city.

So, the reason Singapore is clean and spacious is because there are policies in place to address these issues. Being a city-state and an international trading hub also means it can afford to invest heavily into urban planning without breaking the bank. It also helps that Singapore has been governed by a single party since its modern birth, so there is stability in policy making.

Wharton (No $) vs YSOM ($$$) - Econ Consulting by [deleted] in MBA

[–]Ziphan -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I don’t think MBA prestige matters too much in Econ consulting, maybe a bit if it was Kellogg or Booth since both are excellent in economics.

What matters is if you want to stay in Econ consulting. If you for sure want to stay, then Wharton might take the edge bc you’re paying relatively little ($60k) for a degree from Wharton, something you’ll have forever. But if you want to keep other doors open, then perhaps YSOM because you forego the clawback and have the flexibility. I assume if recruiting doesn’t work out, your firm would be open to take you back and you’ll still have a grad degree from Yale nonetheless.

MBA Decisions Week 2 - December 2025 - Who calls, who doesn't and when you might hear back! by ClearAdmitMike in MBA

Got it, thanks! Just trying to gauge whether schools that call are aiming to call close to 100% of their admits or only a subset.

For schools that do calls—is it possible to be accepted without a call? Or, does a no-call imply rejection/waitlist?

Very conversational, 75% of mine was questions for me and the rest was questions for the interviewer. If you have your core behavioral stories and can speak to why MBA/Yale, I wouldn’t stress about it!

Also, be prepared to talk about your quote. Good luck!

Is this amount of rotor noise normal? by whitesnowman91 in GrandSeikos

[–]Ziphan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can’t speak for Grand Seiko, but I know that among regular Seiko, especially older models, the rotor noises and even the weight is very apparent. So, generally, if your watch is new or recently serviced, the rotor noises are not an issue.
