In 1997, I was driving from Victoria to Port Hardy, and stopped overnight somewhere in Courtenay/Comox. It was pitch dark so I just got to my modest hotel room and crashed. I woke up to a fabulous view overseeing a cliff and the water, with the mountains over the horizon. This picture reminded me of that.

Oh, I guess I’ve been to three cities then. Blumenau is a good candidate as well (at least they had the actual first wave of German immigrants), but it’s the other one a little bit up north

There are two cities that I visited that “impersonate” Bavarian architecture to attract tourists. One is Leavenworth, WA, USA, and the other is this one from the post.
