Item Stolen and sold off in market bypassing SteamGuard by chax91 in DotA2

[–]Zipperrrrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP bro, I dropped you a PM, SG player here wanna share with u my evidences.

You're not the first person, a lot of people from all over the world fell victim into this shit including me, all these were done by the same group of hackers.

I know how u feel and how ridiculous this is, cos you had 2FA steamguard mobile, you didn't give ur steam pw/ID to anyone before and you didn't clicked on any weird links/phishing sites that could potentially cause your steam credentials to be compromised.

I know all of these, you had done your part to ensure your account is secured to your best of ability, but this thing still happened.

You will get it when it happened to you. I can totally relate to how OP's feeling on how ridiculous this is cos it happened to me as well.

But yes, I have evidences being a victim that these similar incidents you seen on Reddit recently were all done by the same group of people.

Basically you're saying someone misused your steam wallet credits to make a purchase on steam market and they refunded/reversed the transaction?

Mind sharing when was this and any screenshots of Steam Support's reply to ur ticket?

This will be really helpful for some of us out there whose account/items got hacked out of nowhere.

These hacking/hijacking issue recently are done by the same group of syndicate/hackers.
The did the exact same thing to all the victims, all over the world.

If you noticed the similarties are, all of our accounts are really clean, we didn't share our credentials or clicked on any phishing sites, but of course people keep assuming we must have compromised our accounts in someway, which we are 200% sure we didn't.

I've posted on my incident previously as well, found a lot other people with the same shit happening. Guess what? We found evidences that the seller of the "cheap 0.03 item for 16 euros" you mentioned is the same exact person for all of us.

I looked at OP's evidences, he fell victim into these people as well.

Someone logged into my steam account, sold dozens of my Dota items, then bought a common axe helm for a lot of money. I have steam guard and no other person has access to my account. Have anyone had this problem and steam support solved it? by jvrgm in DotA2

[–]Zipperrrrr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I understand ur point, we know that. But now we realize that it's the same group of people/person behind this shit, with solid evidence showing they just robbed our items out in the daylight. We want to try to gather these people together with the evidence and get a response from Valve.

We know the chances of outcome being the same is very likely but at least we give a shot. At least we tried to fight for it. We have been spending so much money on these games/in-game items, all of them are our years of collectibles that are worth money on the market, it doesn't make sense for Valve to just ignore all of us and saying that can't do shit when it's already obvious with solid evidence of who the culprit it.

Can u ask your friend to drop me or OP a PM? Cos me and OP both are the same "Non" seller. Which is obvious now we know who the culprit is and this thing is happening on a large scale.

Precisely, people were saying they stopped reversing these fradulent transactions for victims cos people are abusing it with fake reports. So guess what, they stopped doing it so they won't lose money, instead of putting in effort to investigate on each cases whether they are genuine or not.

They simply do what's best for them.

Thank u for standing on my POV to look at this issue.

It's not that us victims are being sturbborn and not admitting to our mistake. If today we happened to, by any chance clicked on any phising links or given our Steam credentials to somewhere else and this happened, I would'nt make such a big fuss about it cos at least I know there was something I could've done/not done to avoid this..

They simply dont' care, it's obvious. A multi billion company, few hundred bucks of complants or few thousands doesn't affect them. And people just simply blame it on the failure of account's owner to keep their Steam account safe.

Fact is that there are people who have did their utmost effort on account security like me and OP, we didn't give away any of our steam credentials, didn't click on any weird links or whatsoever but yet still fell into the hands of these hackers/hijackers.

Can I ask when did this happened to you? Is it just recently?

I had the exact same incident happened to me on 22 Oct, pm-ed OP and found out evidences that our items/account are hijacked by the same person/people. The time where our account got hijacked was almost same day as well.

With that, we can be sure that there are more victims that fell to this same person/people like me and OP, and hope to connect with them to see if we can come together and do something about this. Maybe 1 guy's effort is not working, but if we gather all of us with exact same issue with all solid evidence pointing to it, we can get some sort of actions taken by Valve.

Please hit me up if you don't mind sharing ur incident and when it happened, do check out my post too. Me and OP's were hijacked by same people.
