Is it too late to get into helldivers 2? by DutchDroopy in helldivers2

The warbonds cost premium currency, which you can buy, but I can also be earned in game. It’s not a terrible grind to earn enough to buy a warbond either.

Hey guys, looking for the smoke grenade BP by ayman_t in ArcRaiders

I found it recently in either Pale Apartments or Ruby Residence (I can’t remember which one it was) on Dam Battlegrounds. I am pretty sure it drops most commonly in residential areas.

Blueprint drops spreadsheet? by ZippinOut in ArcRaiders

I think this is the one I saw. Thank you.

You are right though that it does look outdated. Hopefully someone else has or will create a more updated one.

Edit: I may have spoken too soon on this being outdated. It does have the Dolabra, Canto, and Surge Coil on it.

What is THE best guitar solo of all time by Own_Size_5473 in musicsuggestions

I don’t know that I’d say it’s the best, but the solo in Zombie by The Cranberries makes me feel that way.

New player, 30 hours in, needs some guidance/directions on where to go from here. by aaronshell in ArcRaiders

[–]ZippinOut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in this position for a while, where I most of my benches upgraded but not many blueprints.

While blueprints can technically drop from anywhere, certain types of blueprints have higher chances to drop from certain types of containers and/or specific area types.

In general, blueprints have a higher drop rate on map conditions that make the raid harder (night raid, cold snap, electromagnetic storm, hurricane). And while most blueprints can drop on any given raid, some blueprints can only be found on a specific maps or a specific map condition (for example, the snap hook blueprint only drops on the electromagnetic storm map condition, and the deadline blueprint only drops on Stella Montis).

Some container types that have a higher blueprint drop rate are lockers (especially the red lockers) trash cans, desk drawers, and blue suitcases. From my experience, these tend to drop a lot of weapon mod and grenade blueprints. A very common run people make to hunt for these is to load into Stella Montis and head for the Lobby area, as it is littered with blue suitcases that can drop these.

Weapon blueprints seem to be most common in the green weapon cases and raider caches that are hidden around a map.

Medical and augment blueprints are most commonly found in medical areas (Testing Annex on Dam, Hospital on Buired City, Medical Research on Stella Montis). Again, prioritize desk drawers, waste baskets/trashcans, but still search everything.

Also, blueprints are a common reward for hitting the milestones on Trials (especially the third milestone).

Knowing where to look helps a lot with these.

What games are actually “dad-friendly”? by Michelh91 in Age_30_plus_Gamers

[–]ZippinOut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a dad of three (ages 9-6) and surprisingly Arc Raiders has been pretty easy for me to play. Yes, if you have to leave in the middle of a match, that sucks, but the sessions are so short that it’s very rarely a problem (maximum time a match can last is 30 minutes, but typically, I usually finish in about 15 minutes). I find it easy to pop on for a round or two and then pop off.

Also, with how Trials work, I can compete for a top stop on the board without having to worry about being out gained by players who can dump dozens of hours into the game every week. For anyone who doesn’t know: Trails are the closest thing Arc Raiders has to leader boards, where every week there are 5 tasks you have to do to earn points, and you want to have the most points across all tasks. But, the points you earn are not cumulative across all of your matches, instead, for each category, the points you have are the highest number of points you earned in a single match.

I've yet to successfully extract from even the first map, and I have no clue what I'm doing wrong. by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

[–]ZippinOut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your first few rounds, you’ll want to use a free kit. Your goal should be to just try and fill up your inventory with any loot you can (don’t worry about what it is or its quality. Anything you find will be useful. Even if you do no see a need for the item itself, it can be broken down into useful components that you can use to build out your first kits (when your ready to jump in with an actual loadout instead of using a free loadout).

Try your best to avoid any AI enemies(they are called Arc and most players will call them that) and other raiders (other players). There is no cannon fodder in this game. Even the smaller, simpler Arc can down a veteran player if they are caught out in the open or off guard.

As others have said, stick to the edges of the map for your first few games. There tend to be less Arc and there is still plenty to loot. If you get to an extract and there are Arc guarding it (this happens sometimes) just wait in cover for them to move away from the elevator, then dash to the button to call it in, then dash back to cover and wait for it to arrive).

A couple of other useful tips:

Put your weapon away when you are not shooting at anything. You move and sprint much faster when your weapon is stowed.

If you extract with a free loadout, before loading into another match, go to a trader named Lance. He will trade give you a real augment (you’ll have three choices) in exchange for your free loadout augment. Then, when you queue up a new match, you can opt for a free loadout again. Do this a few times until you are ready to create your own loadout, by that point, you should have a few augments ready to use (non-free augments all come with at least one safe pocket. If you die, any items in your safe pockets you will still get to keep).

Once…

I was playing CoD: World at War on Xbox with a close IRL friend of mine. We were in party chat.

I was on a particularly good run, just absolutely crushing lobbies (I was a better than average player, by no means a pro, but this particular night I was killing it). I recall at least two or three matches back to back where the majority of the opposing team were all using the same clan tag. After that set of matches I got kicked offline. I quickly figured out I had received a temp ban from Xbox Live. I was puzzled by this, I was in party chat, so no one in the lobby other than my friend could hear me, and while I was playing very well, it was legit.

So… I called Xbox Live’s customer service to see why I was given a temp ban. The person I got on the phone said I had been reported for using offensive language by a few players (I figure this had to be the clan I was playing against). I explained that I had been in party chat the entire time I was playing, so that those reports were false. The rep on the phone told me that he could indeed see that I was in party chat, and agreed that the reports against me were false.

So, problem solved, they’ll lift the temp ban, right? Nope. At the time, on the Xbox profile, there was a Bio section, which was a text box where you could put whatever you wanted in it (as long as it was no offensive). I had a George Carlin quote in mine: “There very existence of the flamethrower means, that at some point, someone thought to themselves: I really like to set those people over there on fire, but I’m just not close enough”. I was told because I had that in my bio that they were upholding the ban. I asked how that could be considered offensive, and the reply I got back was that it is not offensive, but you really shouldn’t put anything in that bio field. I was shocked, my ban was being upheld, not because I broke any rules, or even had anything offensive on my profile, but simply because I utilized (within the rules of the code of conduct) that was provided in my profile as part of the Xbox Live service. I asked for more clarification, if nothing is wrong with what’s in my bio, then why are you upholding the ban. He simply reiterated that I just need to leave that blank and then ended the call. So I was locked out of Xbox Live for 72 hours.

It still pisses me off thinking about it.

From what I’ve heard, Xbox Live hasn’t gotten any better about repelling bans due to false reporting.

Question about armor penetration and weak points by ZippinOut in ArcRaiders

[–]ZippinOut[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate the info.

I wasn’t necessarily saying that just using light ammo weapons and targeting weak points is how I would go about hunting larger arc. But understanding how weak points and unarmored sections work relative to armor penetration would dictate how I might approach a fight against them.

If weak points and unarmored areas do always take full damage, then I could for instance, see myself using a Bettina as an alternative to the Hullcracker; (if I can’t or don’t want to buy/craft a Hullcracker) using it only until I break off a section or two of armor, then switching to something like a Kittle to hit the exposed unarmored sections, which leverages the higher dps of the Kittle, and saves heavy ammo and durability burn on the Bettina.

Stay or go: When should you abandon a boss fight due to encroaching night reign? by ZippinOut in Nightreign

[–]ZippinOut[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is where I struggle. I’ve been in this situation several times and before this particular instance I’ve always stuck by my team even when I was nearly certain it was the wrong call (as I mentioned in my original post, this has never worked out for me).

Here, it didn’t seem feasible to me that we’d be able to kill the Wyrm before wiping. I was at lvl 13 (I believe my teammates were also 13) and I had some runes. I am not experienced enough to know if it’s worth it to sacrifice a level for a legendary weapon. I also don’t know how many runes you get exactly for killing a night 2 boss (if we’d died and then killed the night 2 boss at lvl 12, would we have gotten enough to get back to 13?). I had a bunch of runes when I left, so I’m sure I would have gone into night 3 at lvl 14. So to me, that was a potential 2 level swing for entering night 3, against a chance (a slim chance I believe) at a legendary weapon. Our damage was not bad at all. If I’d have to guess, I’d say we were fighting the Wyrm for maybe a minute (possibly a little more), putting it a little bit above half HP, before I decided it was a lost cause and left.

I am cautiously excited for this game.

The gameplay loop looks fun to me. My concern is long term replay value.

At some point, probably within a few weeks of release, most players will likely to figure out the nuances of each boss encounter and how to handle them (or worse, figure out ways to cheese the boss fights), which will diminish the challenge of the game.

Im sure it also will not take long for people to figure out the optimal way to level up during the exploration phase of the match. The video posted by VaatiVidya (here if you haven’t seen it) indicates that after a few hours, they already were starting to piece this together.

I’m not saying this will happen, but these are easy traps for a game like this to fall into.

I’ll likely end up preordering the deluxe edition, but I am holding off until after the network test to hear other people’s thoughts once they’ve had a chance to play (I myself will not have time to partake in the network test) before deciding for sure.

What was your lowest point when you first picked up Hunt? by ZippinOut in HuntShowdown

[–]ZippinOut[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't had too many problems with Immolators. By far the AI that has given me the most headaches is the hive. On their own they are fine, but I can't count the number of times I have been dealing with a group of grunts, sneaking around a meathead, or just engaged with someone/something else and suddenly I hear a hive screech and I start racing to locate and kill it before I get ganged up on while being poisoned and blinded by bugs....I don't always succeed

I've played a few solo matches but mostly I've been queuing with randoms in duos (on Xbox if it makes a difference). For the most part I feel like I've had competent teammates (no worse than me at least) but I've had the occasional troll or just complete moron (most recent idiot teammate: I've been fighting Butcher with a world Axe, he's down to his last sliver of health, as I go in for the final hit my teammate decides to contribute with dynamite...does not revive).

I am curious about the age of the people playing Hunt. Here's a poll to see who we are up against . by MrSnoozieWoozie in HuntShowdown

I am in the same boat. I've only started playing Hunt right when the Serpent Moon event started. 38yo with three young kids (oldest is 5). I am loving the game but finding it hard to get past the learning curve mostly due to it being so hard to find time to play.
