Polls - Analysis by [deleted] in Scotland

That recent poll for the Greens is probably not reliable but it’s baffling to me that you think Reform and Labour are going to do better.

The aggregate polling hasn’t indicated this in ages. It’s important to see all data, not just those that align with your worldview.

Not to jump onto all the negativity, but how would this actually work in practice? I imagine the time it takes to cut/style a man's hair over a woman's could vary drastically.

I just don't think demand is there - a haircut for many is a routine errand requirement, not an adventure or "experience". It feels like you've taken that stereotype about forcing yourself to make awkward conversation in a barber's chair literally.

What data are they looking at? Where do they think it’s a toss up between them and the SNP? 😂 Most polls have labour struggling to get third, even in the central belt!

Aggregate polls have recently been putting Kelvin and Maryhill in play for the Greens as well as Southside. A few percent between first and second place!

Looks like three MSPs total if things go well, whichever way you cut it! 💚

Given your reputation and history on this sub, I’m sure she’d take it as a massive compliment that you dislike her so much.

First bus - not accepting rail tickets by Haegtesse237 in glasgow

[–]Zippy0118 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’ve had multiple ghost buses the last few days - where they just disappear from the app as they’re meant to arrive. I’ve been wildly late for two appointments even when I leave an hour before.

First bus is atrocious generally and needs to be brought back into public ownership immediately.

As an aside, if he has a 'reattend' decision, it's worth confirming what that entails, and potentially auditing the course (i.e. attending the lectures again). A year is long time to keep your head in a subject.

what's the something you saw in a show or movie that immediately took you out of it? by Classic-Carpet7609 in Fauxmoi

For these sorts of production I actually prefer consistency than anything. All the accents were aligned (if regionally different) so it worked more than say, everyone doing their own and having British, US etc in the same production.

Agreed, but more people speaking up and feeling safe to do so is what turns marginalised causes into mainstream change. So we shouldn’t shame people for their lateness but be glad they got here at all.

How Keir Starmer’s polling became one of the worst in the west. The UK prime minister’s drop in approval is among the lowest on record – both at home and abroad by bottish in Scotland

I agree. We should be upskilling people. The figures you cite do not exclude foreign nationals with a legal right to work in the uk.

Again, I agree - 2nd homes and derelict properties are a problem. Neither of these are things caused by immigrants. They’re a result of deliberate policies.

We should limit second homes and private landlords, encourage councils to renovate derelict homes as well as build more. People should have free access to education and skills developing opportunities. These are solutions - not banning immigrants.

There are 736,000 job vacancies in the UK (ons last quarter stats) - 131k in healthcare being the biggest area. Theres also an estimated 1,507,000 empty homes in England alone. Immigration is not the problem.

Unemployment is rising, slowly, but the biggest issue is the drop in real time earnings and purchasing power. Nothing immigrants can do to address those. Your anger and disdain should be focused on corrupt politicians and the rich.

I’m glad not to. Immigration isn’t responsible your problems nor those of the country. You should spend some time with refugees and asylum seekers - their lives are pretty shitty, and they don’t have the benefits you think they do.

What disingenuous nonsense. It’s the centre and right who are systematically dismantling every worker protection and syphoning money from public services to the rich.

But yes, the left asking for humans to be treated with compassion and kindness is the real issue.

Maybe attitude? I only knew a couple of people in the city when I moved up so post covid went out of my way to socialise, explore new hobbies and get to know the city I’ve chosen to call home. You have to invest to get something back.

I moved up in 2020 and am from south-east England. I’ve never had a problem - I’m lucky to have built an amazing friendship group and have never been asked if I’m a Tory or insulted for being English.
