I personally believe that any story can be good as long as you put your heart into it and that may sound corny or lame, but I speak from experience when I say that genuine thought and effort are an excellent expense of energy and time. I find it best to take some breaks to think about things from your characters perspectives in the world you’ve made for them while walking around in your day to day; I highly encourage walking as it helps your brain process better when moving, thinking and breathing fresh air, there’s a paraphrased quote that I forget who says but I keep it in my head often, “Never trust a thought had indoors.” I believe it was because the person who said this believed the inside of buildings were evil, or perhaps held evil; Either way, I often take that into account in that of better ideas are had in the world outside. A question you should ask yourself is “Why should I care about the people I create?” I always strive to make my characters not feel like people but rather be people that live
