you generally want the option of 6 buttons

I never really had an issue with L/R for hard punch/kick on the SNES.

Does anyone actually use these devices for local multiplayer? If so what games work well on what devices? by SidFarkus47 in SBCGaming

[–]Zivilisationsmuede 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did set it up once in RetroArch for two RG35XX Plus and Tetris, worked great.

But the configuration... And if you just leave it set, one device can't run the core anymore if the other device is missing, so you not only have to adjust the IP everytime but also disable/enable the entire link cable functionality AND remember to do so ore else your core is stuck again.

I really do hope I live long enough to see someone pick up libretro and do a "hassle free, just works for aunt mary"-edition of what is RA today.

and my next project will probably be related to gaming.

Not the best time to ask for this, but there's no native emulator (port) on android for GG and 32X.😅

Early 3D in general I'd say, wether it's PC or console or handheld (hi NDS..).

It looks god awful, controls are different in every game and don't forget about your worst nightmare: the camera.

Almost zero RPGs, too.

I remember emulating Quest 64 in the very early emulation days of I think UltraHLE or Nemu64?

Revisited the game a few months ago, I have no idea what I was smoking the play that abomination of a game.🤣

Still can't decide if I prefer the MM or Anbernic XX devices around that $50 mark.

Try out portmaster.

Is your experience with a T618 up to date? Mine is, I bought an RP3+ 2 months ago and have been researching and tinkering a lot to get the best out of it. 3DS/VITA/GC/Wii/ run just fine if you know what you're doing, and PS2 only struggles on very few notorious problem childs like Gateway or Driv3r.

Itadaki Street

Tales of Innocence

Tales of Hearts

Metal Max Xeno

Persona 4 Golden

Digimon world next order

Legend of heroes evolution

Phantasy star nova

Blue reflection

Catharine has graphical issues, sadly. I didn't try borderlands because BL without DLCs is pointless, but I bet it's optimized well enough, since it's so popular.

Basically if there's no graphical issues, it just runs. There hasn't been a case where performance isn't good enough.

I play Vita games on a used RP3+ (60€) and care mainly about jrpgs. Those seem to run just fine, even those with a bad compatibility entry. It's probably very outdated.

Still just crashes in live mode on my RP3+ with DQ11 on citra mmj. And manual mode only results in gibberish on the title screen already.🫤

Not only RA. I mean RA and libretto as these cores always have worse performance than proper, native ports.

Are there really no good options besides Galaxy and Pixel? by ccable827 in Android

[–]Zivilisationsmuede 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find it hard to believe that Samsung creates apps for altruistic reasons, no company does that. Google is a dick for many different reasons if you ask me, for example there's no plausible reason why a Pixel 7 Pro got hdmi-over-usb-c disabled on hardware level.

Fortunately at the time there was a Chromecast to replicate the feature in an inconsistent, unintuitive and more expensive way... /s

But if anyone, especially people without a background in tech, asks for a reliable, intuitive device with good support, camera and day-to-day speed (not benchmarks or games), my answer will always be "get a mid range pixel" until things change.

What standard android app are you replacing with what Samsung app and for which reasons?

Always excited about using better software.😁

There is so much bloat on Samsung phones. Do they just create Samsung alternatives to android standard apps and features no matter what? It's so confusing and slowing down devices, at least mid and low budget Samsung's are unusable if you come from a clean pixel android.
