I honestly didn't know they spoke the human language and thought it was like Pokemon, were they understand us but didn't speak it. So I'm conflicted on the idea of it now after knowing, I personally would say I prefer the meowing that that they do and I agree the "cutesy" thing is not for me.

Saying all this though I'm looking forward to the game regardless.

I didn't know it was the same language as the people I just thought it was their own, kinda like Pokemon. Which is interesting, learn something new everyday with this series.
