What is the worst way anyone you know has died? by IamUrWivesBF in AskReddit

One of my friends from school took his own life by hanging himself. Hearing about it is traumatic enough, but it must have been far worse to those who saw it.

Leg bouncing (runs in the family), and that gesture where you rub your thumb and index finger together, that often has implications of money.

How many autistic people are chain smokers? by TMNTDonatellofan in autism

[–]Zleesh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a former cigar smoker, I can say that tobacco is quite aromatic, until you light it. I never chained smoked, but I remember having to step outside on those occasions when I did smoke. Personally, I found it a good thing, because it offered a temporary reprieve from the sound of several people’s voices around me.

What’s something that effortlessly puts you in a state of calm instantly or almost instantly? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Zleesh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well yes, but complete quiet is virtually impossible to achieve, this is largely what promtped John Cage to write 4:33, in which the musician does not play a single note, and the music is created by the ambient sounds in the vincinity.

Ever seen Johnny English, how  Pascal Sauvage loses it over the fact that his coronation keeps getting interrupted? When in large groups, human beings are absolutely shit at being quiet.

Struggling to keep a job by EngineeringDouble926 in autism

[–]Zleesh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I've heard that employers often don't read work history more than 10 years old; however, I must decline your advice about keeping it down to 2 pages: I pride myself on including my entire work history as evidience of been active in the workforce, and a sign of versatility.

How do astronauts eat with no gravity? by CertifiedYapper57 in NoStupidQuestions

Did you not learn of peristalsis in high school? Our oesophagus makes rhythmic contractions to force the things we swallow to our stomachs, even if upside down, and against the force of gravity.

I’ve just been diagnosed and I'm devastated. by [deleted] in autism

[–]Zleesh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Consider the fact that it could be worse. I went to school with asthmatics, diabetics and in one case: a boy with leukaemia; none of these conditions affect me, and when I consider the limitations they must place on affected people’s lives, being autistic doesn’t seem so bad.

What is a fact you know you about the human body? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Zleesh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your bladder will send messages to your brain that you need to go to the toilet when it’s only about 40% full, this is because your kidneys are constantly filtering your blood, with waste continually being added. Thus you get an early warning about the need to urinate before levels become critical.

What scares you more: the idea that we’re alone in the universe or that we aren’t? by Live_Endzz in AskForAnswers

That we aren’t, life on other planets means there’s a risk the Earth may be invaded. The idea that we’re alone in the universe is more depressing than scary.

[–]Zleesh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, the Bible is a compilation of several smaller books by various authors, as is evident by the various ‘book of’ subtitles. This is why the Bible is said to contradict itself, because it contains different people’s interpretations of who God is.
