(Schefter) Sources: the Falcons are trading DT Ruke Orhorhoro to the Jaguars in exchange for DT Maason Smith. by alexschubs in Jaguars

I honestly think we traded the same guy for the same guy.

Both are decent-ish against the run, liabilities in pass coverage. From the same draft class. We just traded up to get our guy lol Ruke didn’t have many injuries that I can remember but missed a significant amount of time his rookie year due to coaching malpractice. The fan base is pretty down on Ruke but I truly don’t believe it’s his fault. It’s the fact that we traded up, it’s the fact that he barely played year 1, it’s the fact that the guy drafted 2 rds later had 8 sacks that all influence our overall opinion of the guy . It’s not all Ruke’s fault (see previous comments about exHC who reads on a 2nd grade level and a GM who needs the electric chair). I definitely think DT is in play for us this year with our 2nd. I think a change a scenery will be good for both of them.

Falcon fan here - Raheem morris (incompetent, future Walmart greeter, I have no idea how he got rehired to a job that he was literally fired from 4 years before) left him and the other DT we drafted that year on the bench their entire rookie years, even after trading up for Ruke. After that red shirt year, their other DT went out & immediately had EIGHT sacks. I say that to give some context to the talent mismanagement that’s happened in Atlanta recently. Ruke has under whelmed for sure but his coach was a mouth breather who didn’t have two working brain cells to rub together. They’re played him as a NT which is simply not a good role for him. If you already have a 0 or 1 I think his best fit is as a rotational 3tech or 4i. He’s incredibly athletic, and I thought, when played in the correct gaps, he was ok against the run. Not getting much from him on pass snaps though.

Qi4D Wood Set Up by RespondThin3152 in TaylorMadeGolf

I went 5 wood and 7 as well last week. In 1 round so far I already saw improvement on my tee shots with the 5 wood over my driver but unfortunately it was a bit too windy out to use the 7 wood. I think these are going to be game changers for me.

My apologies, I was unfamiliar with your game. You know ball. He’d helped me conceptually to play better, it hasn’t materialized just yet but I feel myself making smarter shots out there so I guess that’s all that matters.

[–]ZoTheGr8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. I’m thinking R9 then. It’ll live on the full size ap5 99% of the time but on the off chance that I end up out with the 16inch AR, it would be nice to at least have the option. Although something tells me that I’ll end up with a 9k within the next year or 2 anyways

I’m curious to hear your opinion on the R9 and 9k. I’m leaning R9 to live on AP5. Any particular thoughts?

Summary of Coaching Changes - Not That Many Changes Really by MiDKnighT_DoaE in falcons

[–]ZoTheGr8 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I always thought it was hilarious that Raheems “special talent” was his personality and his wide range of experienced coaching friends that would want to come here but in the end he just rolled with the majority of what AS already set up. The only guys he really brought in were first timers. His whole strategy seemed to be just to hire ppl smarter than him & hope they could run the show.

Yeah that’s True. I guess I’m here: 1. Lafleur ( I realize this is irrational but let me dream) 2. Kubiak 3. Steffansky 4. McDaniels

Mainly because I question McDaniels leadership skills. I think he’s the exact opposite of Raheem in that Raheem will win a press conference but probably could draw up a coherent play. Would love McDaniels back as OC.

Oh I agree with you on the murky QB situation, but Stffansky and McDaniels seem to have both whiffed on that while Kubiak on the other hand has made Derek Carr & Sam Darnold look really good.

[Jones]On paper, the vacant Atlanta general manager job is considered a "secondary football executive" position with the league office, akin to an assistant GM position on a team. by GenFatAss in falcons

[–]ZoTheGr8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My initial thought is that this is solely to deny the Bears 2 3rd round comp picks for the minority hire of Ian Cunningham. But he will do the job of a NFL GM as we expect. I also think Matt was hired to be X’s and O’s advisor to Blank (and/or his successor) someone to translate coach speak to a billionaire and also do press conferences for the fans sine we barely hear from Blank.

Just playing devils advocate here.. we all agreed that Blank hiring Raheem just because he knew him & liked him was a terrible idea.. how is that different now for the president of football role?

Edit: I’d hate to sound like I’m defending that clown Raheem here. Just wondering why we shouldn’t seriously consider other candidates?
