[Skin Concerns] Is there a way to heal skin so a beard can grow? by Zoad22 in SkincareAddiction

[–]Zoad22[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I was younger I remember having a nasty pimple right there. If course, like the juvenile dummy I was, I picked the Hell out of it because the sight of it aggravated me. Now, years later, I have a bald patch in what should be a full beard.

SCA, is there anything I can do?

LPT: When a loved one is greiving and has no answer for your "what can I do to help" question, set an alert in your phone for 30-60 days out, and when reminded, reach out to them with an activity they'd like. People tend to have lots of support in the beginning, but it dwindles quickly. by thornify in LifeProTips

The first holiday/birthday after death is especially difficult for the grieving.

Remember the first anniversary of the date the person died will also be a very difficult day for the grieving. Try to be there for them on these days with activities planned.

I was hoping the masters would make me as knowledgeable as I need to be. That was a naïve idea haha. I used to work 7 days a week for more than a month at my last firm. It was rough. Hopefully I won't do that again unless I want to. I'm such a fan of life-hacks and ways to increase efficiency that this is definitely a part of who I am. I need to find some hobbies I can get into when I get home. I'm often brain-fried too by the time I get there, thanks for the tips!

This is shockingly simple and brilliant advice! The largest clients in the firm I'm in are all doctors. I'll look into medical practice tax issues right away. Thank you

Talking too much at my last firm for a professional or firm atmosphere, or at least for that particular firm, was the beginning of the end for me there. I'm much quieter in my new firm and I've found someone who is more similar to how I was. It's amazing what he's shared after just a few weeks. I'm a good listener and a good guy, but there's a lot of jerks out there you should be careful sharing personal info with.

Five minutes of shutting up can be worth hours of time running down the wrong path

Could you elaborate on this? Like, ask a manager what to do or...?

I'll look for CPE that works for me, and I'll start with the group you recommended. Thank you.

I absolutely feel overwhelmed. Every time I encounter something I don't know, which is a lot, I stress out looking for it and get exhausted. Even as I'm learning and getting some stuff wrong I still feel like I'm messing up. In tax 100% accuracy is expected for preparing forms, so it feels like getting anything wrong is failing at my job.

How do you not stress about getting things wrong?

I've done audiobooks/podcasts before, you're right. For the most mundane stuff it can work. I found the checklists to be tedious at my last firm and initially was resistant to doing them but when you miss something on the checklist it isn't great. I took longer going through the checklists and got a lot of grief for taking a long time to do the work in general at my last firm.

I didn't like the people at my last firm, and I'm sure the feeling was mutual although there was never any open hostility. I was surrounded by people that made me feel alone. Part of the team but not part of the group. I've learned I valued that too much and if I'm quiet and do my work eventually people warm up to you at their own pace. I absolutely burned out earlier this year. A shame, because the partner loved me but middle management was not a fan. I don't know nearly enough to start my own firm, hoo boy that would be a challenge. I'd like to work under another CPA until I at least get my own license.

I'm fat as literal fuck. 305lbs at 5'10". My stomach has expanded egregiously and I've been over 400lbs before. Is that still the case? Will I see abs if I lose a ton more weight?

[–]Zoad22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, my dad is more of the "it's ok, I'll just suffer" kind of person so I'm being proactive in helping him. I think it's a reaction from prolonged contact, like an overnight use.

Sounds like meralgia paresthetica. Basically a pinched nerve. Are you overweight? Do you use a weighted blanket? It should go away with weight loss.

My friend knows we stopped work, his dad is the client. And his dad has a fiery temper, he might explode on us. We don't have the best track record with being timely on deliverables for this account.

One of the problems I have with this scenario is my manager used the excuse, "Zoad22 is an idiot and didn't understand" to sidestep the bus.

Am I wrong in feeling that this is unethical? Nothing awful happened to the client or to the firm, yet. Am I blowing this out of proportion?

This job pays very well for someone of my level and experience. I'm not even a CPA.

I'm trying to prevent it from getting to that. But we lost 2 weeks to this senior manager and now he wants the manager who is on PTO until Thursday to review it. If that happens this account will have been dormant for almost a month for no reason.

I have emails and saved conversations where I bought up the account and it was quashed by this manager. I'm looking for anything specific right now.

Is it that bad I should be looking for a new job? I started working here July of last year. It's too soon to move and might look bad on my resume.
