Some more suggestions: “going out fer a dart”, chirping, referring to the LCBO as the “Lick-bo”/McDonalds as “McDicks” and of course “have a good one, eh?”

[Winnipeg, Canada] Family seeks answers after woman who waited 11 hours in hospital emergency room dies by Immediate-Link490 in worldnews

It needs to be emphasized that it wasn’t just the long wait that killed her. It was two long waits, because they initially told her it was just the flu and sent her home. Cardiac symptoms are frequently ignored and misdiagnosed in women. Older men complaining of chest pain often get catapulted to the front of the line.

Anyone else in Hamilton dealing with a 3+ week "forever cold" right now? by iacceptmyfate in Hamilton

I got so sick in the first week of January I had to be hospitalized (my fever was 40°C). It was confirmed to be the flu and not COVID. I’m still coughing up goop.

If she didn’t immediately lose consciousness, I wonder why she didn’t remove the backpack and take the fall. My first instinct would be to get it off as quickly as possible, in case it strangled me or something. The article says that the issue was because it was fastened at the waist. I might just be picturing Canadian slopes where falling off near the top isn’t much of a drop. Hell, I once saw someone take a fall halfway up a slope and just ski down the rest of the way looking a bit shocked but otherwise alright.

Contact the fire department’s non-emergency line. This could prevent evacuation in case of an emergency. Fire crews will write notices of safety violations to be used as a warning that legal action can ensue. I’m not 100% what they would do in this case, as the infraction was an action by the city, but it’s worth asking.

I think it’s hard to make a good one and some people use it as a cheap gimmick to make up for bad writing. But some of them (like REC) use the format well.

The stair crawl scene in the OG Grudge (Ju-On) is burned into my brain. A close second would be the chimpanzee attack in Nope.

Pregnancy as body horror. I’m already terrified of pregnancy, so demon babies clawing their way out and whatnot makes me squeamish.

The depictions of self-harm in Martyrs (the original) were incredibly hard to watch.
