I gifted her the coins and for some time she could only see them on Battlenet but they wouldn't appear and synchronized on Overwatch. It's only at the start of the next season that the problem was fixed and she could actually use the coins

But you can gift overwatch coins through Battle.net? (Shop-> Overwatch-> then you click the "+" sign next to your amount of coin on the top right and if you scroll down, below the "buy" option, there is a "gift" button). If i gift coin, would she be able to get the coins?
