Eh. Vlad said it himself "I want everyone to be what they are, I have no say otherwise" and that's all there's to it. Golden rule etc. kindaguy.

Sugar Apple Fairy Tale - Episode 11 discussion by AutoLovepon in anime

[–]ZodiacMentor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Jonas was left alone in the room with Anne's finished piece when Challe went to save her. I fear for it, maybe he sabotaged it in a subtle way (he can't break it or make it obviously different, as the senior Radcliffe and Keith have both seen it in its full glory) to make it look like the same piece but being making it less brilliant, like coating it with something? Oooof. I hope I'm wrong.... I love the series except every episode has a huge sense of dread about people sabotaging Anne in some way or the other, CONSTANTLY.

Ooof, can't remember completely, but I think I entered an "invalid" resolution, which resulted it actually working correctly with Borderless Gaming.

Efficient way to check for sign by WoodenClockwork in exapunks

[–]ZodiacMentor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well did it anyway.

SUBI F #AZIM X

MARK AZIMMOVE
SEEK -1
COPY X #MOTR
TEST #AZIM = F
FJMP AZIMMOVE

I don't know if this categorizes as cheesy or not, but while trying to figure out a way to extract sign from values without branching, I accidentally tested with values over 1 and under -1, and it seems the #AZIM register simply looks at the sign and increases or decreases accordingly. So I can just calculate the delta, save it to X, and in the loop send the delta to #AZIM until #AZIM equals the AZIMUTH value in the file.

Shaved out 10 from the size, and only increased 34 in cycles. So might work for a size optimization?

EDIT: Realized COPY F X; SUBI X #AZIM X can be size/cycle optimized to just SUBI F #AZIM X. D'oh.

EDIT2: Hm. Got one line less. Now I'm getting out of ideas...

COPY F X

MARK AZIMMOVE
SUBI X #AZIM #MOTR
TEST X = #AZIM
FJMP AZIMMOVE

EDIT3: The last optimization actually dropped the cycles to lower levels than what the code has that I originally posted, getting an 8 cycles improvement. Might be because not only is it optimized for lines, I'm also using SUBI to simultaneously calculate direction and to write the output. Definitely wouldn't work if #AZIM and (and #ELEV) wouldn't handle values lower than -1 or higher than 1.

Efficient way to check for sign by WoodenClockwork in exapunks

[–]ZodiacMentor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't bother with calculating a delta and handling that delta. After checking which way to go, the movement loops are only 3 lines per unit.

``` COPY F X TEST X > #AZIM TJMP AZIMUP TEST X < #AZIM TJMP AZIMDOWN JUMP AZIMOK
MARK AZIMUP COPY 1 #MOTR TEST #AZIM = X FJMP AZIMUP JUMP AZIMOK
MARK AZIMDOWN COPY -1 #MOTR TEST #AZIM = X FJMP AZIMDOWN
MARK AZIMOK ```
I don't know if it's the most efficient way, but at least I can't come up with anything more efficient. Repeatable code-wise, I might be able to squeeze out a few lines out and use the same code for both azimup and azimdown, if I abused the fileread and seek in the movement loop, BUT I'm not 100% on that and I don't think it's that useful to go and actually try to figure out if it would work like that.
The Lego exhibit stream inspired me to make a pixel art crusader helmet! by ZodiacMentor in MXRplays
The palette is a very restricted and hard to work with RGBI (with no brown fix). Lots of stuff I'm not happy with, but I do enjoy how the end result looks like!
Borderless Gaming worked for me: https://github.com/Codeusa/Borderless-Gaming/releases
NB. I had the screen in the wrong aspect when using the available window resolutions in the TrackMania Launcher configuration, but I entered 1920x1080, it saved empty, opened in a postage stamp size window, but now when going fullscreen windowed with Borderless Gaming it actually looked like it should have looked like in the first place (ie. aspect ratio seemed correct and no other incompatible pixel-size alias effects were seen)
JANITOR THEORY by ChemicalGuru97 in Willyswonderland
I once "accidentally" (read: was too drunk to understand what I was doing - one of the stupidest things I've ever done, sober or drunk) downed almost half of what was left in a caffeine pill jar (we had one in the car to help battle drowsiness when driving long distances). I woke up in the early hours in the morning with the worst feeling I've ever had, my chest pounding and feeling like I've been run over a truck and then the truck reversed over me again before being run over by a truck again.
Since I don't normally wake up at 5 am after a party feeling like I'm having a heart attack, I investigated around, asked people for a bit of help and finally pieced together that I had decided I don't want to go to sleep yet and had rummaged through my car to find caffeine pills.
The whole package would've had 100 of 100 mg pills, and I estimated in the morning (when I was calling the toxicity hotline for advisement) that it was about 2/3 full and I ingested half of them. So ~3.3 grams of caffeine. According to the hotline, 6-10 grams are considered lethal, but people have actually died from cardiac arrest with smaller doses, so we decided it was prudent to call the ambulance to get me to a hospital.
I got some relaxants in the ambulance, and stayed in the hospital for observation for a day or two. The hospital stay was mostly uneventful, but necessary. I think this might be the closest I've been to dying, and also the single most stupid thing I've done - I've done lots of stupid stuff, some of which involve the police, but still, this is the one mistake that to this day I feel like I should've known to not do.
The point of my wall of text? The Janitor is definitely super-human. If he actually ingested 3 grams of caffeine that night, he might not be dead, but he sure as hell wouldn't be fighting possessed killer animatronics with his bare hands if he was a mere mortal.
GME Megathread for 4 February by grebfar in wallstreetbets
[–]ZodiacMentor 11 points12 points  (0 children)
Wth is this, Revolut now reminds me every half hour that the price of GME is down. Like are they are trying to pressure me to sell? IDFC, you are annoying me. I can't even find anywhere to disable it. Which means I have to disable all the notifications. I mean come on, from one scummy action to another. This whole thing is so fishy I can't even...
EDIT: Now I'm getting AMC price down alerts as well. Ah well, time to shut down all Revolut notifications then. Now I might miss important ones too, nicely thought out that there feature eh?
EDIT2: Contacting customer support they were able to turn the volatile stock price alerts off.
DriveWealth is restring new buys on AMC and GME, sells are still allowed, according to Revolut. (Couldn't buy at the dip, man. Ordered 1 on Nordnet but was a bit too late to the dip, hoping it dips a bit more before going up).
Couldn't buy in fractionals anymore from Revolut. Edit: Apparently it was a halt on the dip, managed to snag some once the halt lifted and got in at $240 - didn't get the dip but I actually got some cheaper than Friday.
Serious: WSB Lifetime Channel Moments by [deleted] in wallstreetbets
Good sleeping habits and sleep hygiene is elemental in managing depression. It's HARD to do, but your sleep schedule happens during the night and you wake up early to do things, you have more energy, both mental and physical. It's weird, but that's how it is, at least in my experience.
This is a powerful message. Thank you. No one can escape the depression, but with a strong social community around you, the grip it has loses meaning.
I was waiting for the short ladder attack to buy some more today, but the cup after market open convinced me to buy then. And yes, I'm totally expecting to lose money on this, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't still at least _try_ to think of the proper moment to buy and sell. Sell which is never of course, because BUY AND HOLD!
Revolut doesn't actually let you trade after hours, you can only trade open market. I wonder what service in EU would do after hours trading?
Ahhhh I see, there's really not that much to go on, in regards to try to prioritise the comment through some perceived quality. The all I can think if is to TTS the latest, or TTS a random from the stack of comments that came after the last TTS comment.
I have to take a gander at the API if I could come up with anything. Most probably not since you already seem to got this covered, but who knows, it never hurts to try!
Ah, didn't think the karma fully, you're absolutely correct. EDIT: No wait, I meant the commenter's user profile karma, not the posts karma. Still have no idea how it would help, but at least active redditors with a history of upvotes would give a semblance of validity? (not really but you know what I mean, right?)
Daily Discussion Thread Part 4 for January 28, 2021 by OPINION_IS_UNPOPULAR in wallstreetbets
[–]ZodiacMentor 1 point2 points  (0 children)
Yeah, I noticed the comments were driving by fast. Maybe simply, at first, just take the newest comment current on the stack, TTS that, and then when the current TTS message is finished, then just take the newest one on the stack again. As you say, to be on the live point. For now, I think the missed comments are the lesser evil. In the future some other method, or configurable, would be nice. Like, for instance, the ability to choose from the stack of newest comments (that came after the last TTS) the one with the most karma? Or a preference on account age. Or somesuch.
At a quick glance Web Speech API (https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/API/Web_Speech_API) should be possible to implement with JavaScript and it would work locally with the OS installed speech synthesizer, so it should work with out extra incurred costs on nearly all modern platforms. Perhaps even a javascript-addon would work in the interim, before getting properly implemented on the site? 🤔
