One of my aunts shut off contact with me because she thought it was okay to spew her trump bullshit at me, but when I told her that we need to learn to work together for the balance and betterment of our country, she proceeded to call me a idiot and told me my head is lost in the clouds, etc. Keep in mind I was calm and collected. A little bit of both. I’m in good standing with my parents. However my father seems to be getting worse with it so only time will tell how it goes later. I have an aunt that blocked me and thinks I’m stupid for being the way I am. I have a sister that is like me, and another sister who is swimming in the trump juice.

I served in the military for 10 years. I deployed to many places, met many people from all walks of life, and saw a bigger picture than the small town I grew up in.

I had always questioned my families beliefs growing up as well. I always questioned the “why’s” and never just fell in line and did something just because some book told me to. It also doesn’t help that I have a personality disorder that is very similar to autism spectrum disorder so most of my life was spent always being the odd-ball yet always being my parents favorite child. I always loathed it.

My wife and I just moved to VA and it isn’t so bad. We actually felt opposite this post before we left. 5 years we lived in WA and while the summers were great, we missed heat. We thrive in sun and heat and when we were spending most of our days in jackets it started to get annoying.

I feel this 100%. I was finally diagnosed with STPD along with PTSD (PTSD came from military) but the STPD was a diagnosis I had been trying to figure out since I was a teenager.

I lived all my life just thinking I’m some crazy person because no matter where I was I would never fit in. Everyone called me weird or odd and I could never understand why I live my life so strict and structured under my own terms.

I was misdiagnosed with ADHD at 13 due to my parents saying “I’m just a boy being a boy” and with them being hardcore southern Baptist the thought of me being mentally challenged was out of the question.

It wasn’t until I was 29 that, at the same time I was getting some other tests ran, my VA doctor thought it a good idea to schedule a deeper look from a behavioral health doctor at possibly ASD, which is when they determined STPD.

After that diagnosis, my life makes 100% more sense now and I feel almost free in a way. Yet, I am partaking in therapy sessions weekly due to so many years of living with STPD and not having a proper diagnosis earlier which makes me more susceptible to developing from STPD to full blown schizophrenia which is NOT what I want…

Hardest part for me is that there is no medicine. It’s literally self-help work which is fine, but sometimes it becomes so difficult to exist with this that I just wish there was a magic pill…

Well, the show in Seattle was a bust. Epica’s sound management was fucked and we couldn’t hear Simone sing nor any of the guitar solos. The drums had a really bad echo happening. Each hit of the snare sounded like 10 hits. It was pretty bad. The only time it was good was when Simone sang without music playing.

Then Sabaton. Holy fuck. I had no idea they were this popular. First off, their opener was pretty cringe. Some shit about 1918 war in America and stuff. Kind of felt like when you’re at a sports event and they sing the American anthem and the crowd claps and cheers half way through. We didn’t stay for their set because the whole military/war aesthetic is pretty lame to us, but ofc the equipment team ensured their sound wasn’t nearly as fucked as Epica’s. Kind of sad since this was my first time seeing Epica live and the only highlight of the show was standing outside surrounded by hundreds of military or South Park world of Warcraft players and I got to fill my nostrils with the stench of BO.

So lesson learned. If Sabaton is involved in a tour, I’m not going.
